The position at a glance


A contract management specialist within Vendor Management Operations supports in the creation, execution, and analysis of contracts within an organization. A contract management specialist monitors contract compliance with specified requirements and alignment with company goals. This role involves monitoring and reporting on compliance and supporting mitigating contract risks.





In detail


A contract management specialist works closely with Vendor Management Operations, Third Party Management Office, Procurement, and Legal to support the bank businesses and functions in contract management, evaluation and execution following the bank standards and control framework on contract management.


  • Assist in the overall management third party contract lifecycle operations, including supporting stakeholders in contract review, evaluation, and management
  • Escalate / seek guidance on deviations from preferred terms
  • Collaborate with business areas to ensure visibility and understanding of key contract risk areas
  • Streamline communication and monitor processes related to contract negotiation, modification, and execution
  • Assist in the management of internal documentation of key terms prior to contract execution and in connection with reporting to internal governance committees
  • Design and implement reporting on the contract risk
  • Reinforce the utilization of bank contract templates and observation of the bank’s control framework as it pertains to contract risk
  • Generates compliance and risk metrics and provides reporting to management

Qualifications


  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Very strong work ethic and ability to deal with confidential information
  • Experience with a multicultural environment
  • Expertise and experience handling third parties contracts and relationships
  • Ability to understand contractual agreements
  • Be a problem solver
  • Demonstrate excellent relationship management and conflict management capabilities in order to guide stakeholder and the vendor relationship through contract life cycle
  • Attention to detail
  • Understanding when and how to leverage guidance an workflows and to escalate to stakeholders for assistance


Education / Experience


  • +5 year-experience in contract management type of role
  • BA in procurement, business or related discipline coupled with excellent academic credentials
  • Given the vast majority of our clients, both internal and external, are based outside of Quebec and Canada, specific language requirements may apply. Knowledge of French and English is required.
