About the job

 

Within the RISK Operational Risk Management (RISK ORM) department the Operational Risk Senior Officer contributes to the implementation of all the components of Operational Risk & Permanent Control Framework in BNP Paribas CIB activities, providing supervision over the 1st Line of Defence in terms of Operational Risk.

The department is responsible for independently challenging and supervising the Operational Risk management of CIB activities (Global Banking, Global Markets, Securities Services, Information Technology (IT), Operations and Functions) on a worldwide scope.

This specific role will cover Anti-Fraud topics for all CIB Functions (HR, Finance, Procurement) across EMEA.

 

Your Main Activities Are

 

  • Participates and contributes to the risk community at Group level, sharing with other fraud experts in other Metiers / Functions on similar fraud risks.
  • Participate and provide a risk opinion in TAC/NAC or RAF when requested.
  • Contribute to Operational Risk awareness across BNP Paribas CIB.
  • Support junior team members by providing them with training and guidance.
  • Perform the quality review of operational incidents (including review of suspicions/attempts/fraud on customers).   Alerts senior CIB management in case of fraud suspicion and confirmed cases (when reported by 1st Line of Defence where remains the first responsibility).
  • Follow-up on actions plans, recommendations (issued by Regulator, Inspection Generale or RISK ORM)
  • Contribute and/or perform of 2LoD Controls (independent testing) with the aim of enhancing the control framework.
  • Interact with 1LoD (CCCO, OPC teams, Business & Operations, Front Office) to develop trust and confidence allowing to reach agreements when necessary.
  • Check and challenges the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) provided by the 1LoD, by challenging the Intrinsic Risk and the Control Framework rating, agreeing on the Residual Risk and Action plan to mitigate the identified residual risks.
  • Contribute to the Risk Opinion and to the reporting to CIB and RISK ORM management through relevant governance and committees, and in the ICCs at their level.

 

Profile and Skills to Success

 

  • Masters in economics, Finance and Accounting or Business Management
  • [5 - 7] years Banking and Financial Operations
