Job Title: Associate
Department: Asset Management – Investment Operations
About Business line/Function: Reporting Production Analyst
Position Purpose:
The Reporting Production Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day execution of regulatory transaction reporting obligations across EMIR Refit, SFTR, MiFID II covering both EU and UK jurisdictions, and ASIC Rewrite. The role sits at the heart of the first line of defense for regulatory reporting, ensuring that all reportable transactions are submitted accurately, completely and on time to the relevant Trade Repositories and Approved Reporting Mechanisms across jurisdictions.
Reporting to the Regulatory Transaction Reporting team, the Production Analyst works as part of a team with interchangeable resources, each expected to operate across all four regulatory regimes and across both EU and UK jurisdictions where applicable. This versatility is essential to ensure business continuity, balance workload across the team, and provide a single, consistent operating standard regardless of the reporting regime. For SFTR and MiFID II, the Analyst is responsible for the hands-on day-to-day production of regulatory reporting. For EMIR and ASIC, which are delegated, the Analyst is responsible for the oversight and monitoring of the production performed by the service provider, ensuring reporting obligations are met.
The role combines hands-on production (SFTR, MiFID II), oversight of outsourced reporting performed (EMIR OTC, ASIC), oversight of delegated EMIR reporting on ETD performed by clearing brokers, exception remediation, accuracy controls, reconciliations, pairing & matching, and reporting to senior stakeholders. It requires strong attention to detail, an in-depth understanding of regulatory reporting mechanics across EU and UK regimes, and the ability to challenge and monitor an outsourced provider as effectively as performing the reporting directly.
Responsibilities:
A. OVERSIGHT & MONITORING OF OUTSOURCED REPORTING EMIR EU, EMIR UK, ASIC
Perform daily oversight of the EMIR EU and UK scopes, and ASIC reporting production carried out by 3rd party Service Provider (SP), ensuring completeness, accuracy and timeliness of all reporting to DTCC.
Monitor 3rd party SP daily production, submission status and exception handling, and challenge the provider where standards are not met.
Review and validate the controls performed 3rd party SP, ensuring they are operating effectively and evidenced.
Reconcile the internal trade population against the reports submitted by 3rd party SP to identify missing, duplicated or incorrectly reported transactions.
Track and escalate persistent issues, recurring exceptions or SLA breaches by 3rd party SP to RTR team.
Maintain documented evidence of the oversight performed, supporting second-line oversight and internal/external audit requirements.
Act as the point of contact for 3rd party SP on EMIR EU and UK scopes, and ASIC production matters.
B. DAILY TRADE AND TRANSACTION REPORTING ACROSS SFTR (EU AND UK), MIFID II (EU AND UK)
Execute daily production reporting, ensuring all reportable trades and transactions are submitted within the regulatory deadlines.
Monitor reporting platforms and intraday flows to ensure timely capture and submission of all reportable events.
Validate report content against source systems post submission.
Track submission status and ensure all reports reach a final accepted state by Trade Repository or ARM/APA.
C. REJECTIONS AND EXCEPTIONS REMEDIATION
Investigate and remediate all rejections (NACKs) and exceptions raised by the reporting platforms and/or Trade Repository across EU and UK regimes.
Identify root causes (data quality, mapping, reference data, timing) and apply the appropriate corrective actions.
Make the necessary amendments and resubmit corrected reports within the regulatory timeframe applicable in each jurisdiction.
Maintain a clear audit trail of remediation activities for compliance and oversight review.
D. DAILY AND MONTHLY RECONCILIATION
Perform daily reconciliation on SFTR, MIFID, across EU and UK scopes to identify missing, incorrect or duplicated reports, investigate breaks, and implement remediation actions to resolve reconciliation breaks.
For EMIR EU and UK scopes, and ASIC, reconcile the internal data against 3rd party SP reported output as part of the oversight function.
Execute monthly reconciliations to validate the consistency between source data, and data submitted.
Document reconciliation results and escalate unresolved breaks to the Regulatory Transactions Reporting team with proposed resolution actions and timeline.
E. OVERSIGHT OF DELEGATED EMIR REPORTING ON ETD SCOPE PERFORMED BY CLEARING BROKERS
Validate completeness, accuracy and timeliness of reports submitted by clearing brokers.
Engage directly with clearing brokers to investigate discrepancies, request amendments and ensure corrections are made within the regulatory timeframe.
Track and escalate persistent issues or recurring reporting failures to RTR team.
Maintain documented evidence of the oversight performed, supporting RTR oversight and internal/external audit requirements.
F. PAIRING AND MATCHING
Investigate and resolve unpaired or unmatched transactions across EU and UK regimes, engaging directly with counterparties where required.
Manage UTIs processing in line with internal procedures.
Monitor and secure pairing and matching rates as a key indicator of reporting quality.
G. REPORTING TO RTR TEAM
Prepare and share daily statistics and dashboards for all jurisdictions (EU and UK for EMIR/MIFID/SFTR and ASIC) covering reported volumes, pairing and matching rates, accepted volumes, rejection rates and remediated volumes.
Highlight emerging/faced issues, trends or risks to the RTR team in a timely and structured manner.
H. CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT AND KNOWLEDGE SHARING
Identify ad escalate recurring issues.
Maintain up-to-date procedures, runbooks and knowledge base for all four regulatory regimes.
Cross-train and support fellow team members to maintain full interchangeability across the team.
Stay updated with regulatory requirements changes and contribute to impact assessments when changes are announced.
SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS
