About the job

  • The Data Protection Trainee’s mission is to support on key transversal data privacy and protection projects, to support on coordination of activities of the Data Protection activity at Group level under the supervision of the Group Data Protection Officer (GDPO) Advisory Team Leader, and to support and contribute for overseeing the Group BNP Paribas activities alignment with the Data Protection and Privacy (DPP) BNP Paribas framework across the world. Integrated in the Group Data Protection Risk Advisory team, we are seeking for technical profiles for this position who will be focused on learning from a Worldwide team of specialists in privacy and cybersecurity

Your Main Activities Are

  • Supporting the team in performing independent verifications of the controls implemented, and issue recommendations with regards to privacy, IT processes, data management and security, and compliance with the Group BNP Paribas DPP framework and regulation (for example, General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR; California Consumer Privacy Act, CCPA;  General Personal Data Protection Law, LGPD; Personal Data Protection Act, PDPA; among others)
  • Supporting the team in the oversight of key personal data breaches and other DPP incidents and work with key stakeholders (such as Chief Data Officers, Chief Information Security Officers, Data Protection Officers, IT, Legal, among others) on the risk identification, ensure the consistency of potential incidents qualification, conduct post mortem analysis, and validate the adequacy and solutions implementation
  • Support the team in the industrialisation and rationalisation of team activities, through leveraging existing Group systems, existing data, and designing and implementing new tools where necessary
  • Supporting the team in advising key internal stakeholders (for example, Chief Data Officers, Chief Information Security Officers, Data Protection Officers, Business, among others) regarding DPP requirements in transformation projects and impact assessments, notably for initiatives using innovative technologies such as AI, machine learning, or Internet of Things (IoT)
  • Supporting the team in providing advice on the maintenance of the Group’s Data Protection and Privacy Governance and framework, as well as the definition and creation of DPP policies, guidelines, and procedures of Group BNP Paribas
  • Investigate and develop frameworks to improve the protection of personal data across the Group, leveraging on sectorial best practices (for example, ISO27001,  ISO27701, Euro Privacy, among others)
  • Supporting the team in the study and analysis of global technical regulations and authority decisions, providing lessons learned, best practices, and guidelines to the Group main stakeholders (Chief Data Officers, Data Protection Officers, IT, among others) 
  • Attend regular/ongoing data protection, information security, and privacy training and continuous improvement

Profile and Skills to Success

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law / Data Management or related
  • Advanced level of English, both written and oral
  • French and a 3rd language (preferential)
  • Knowledge in Risk / IT / Regulatory / Data Security or similar
  • Knowledge in Data Protection and Privacy, Cybersecurity and IT standards, laws, regulations, and policies
  • Active listening
  • Ability to collaborate / teamwork
  • Ability to share / pass on knowledge
  • Analytical ability
  • Responsibility, professionalism, and willingness to learn and develop competencies leveraging on more senior team members
  • Open to collaborate in challenging and developing innovative approaches
