Position Purpose

  • The Functional Tester is responsible for conducting requirement-gathering sessions, identifying, and designing test plans, writing detailed test cases by analyzing specific business processes and user requirements, testing deliverables and workarounds to meet client objectives.

 

·       Day to Day activities include –

o   Coordinating with BA/Developers to understand the requirement.

o   Checking the impact of the changes in business.

o   Understanding testing principles and practices  

o   Ability to plan, design and execute test cases.

o   Ability to write and understand Test Plan documents to be aligned with the governance.

 

Responsibilities

 

Direct Responsibilities

 

·       Understanding testing principles and practices

·       Ability to plan, design, review and execute test cases and test plan

·       Ability to understand JIRA workflow.

·       Ability to run SQL statement to check data for application.

 

Contributing Responsibilities

 

·       Team player.

·       Effectively communicating the work status and delivery status.

·       Adhere to timelines set for the delivery.

 

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

·       Experience in Banking / Finance space, especially Global Banking (Payments, Credits, Trade).

·       Good Communications Skills with good client facing skills.

·       Understanding of Software Development/Testing Life Cycle (SDLC/STLC).

·       Knowledge of SQL and working in Microsoft Excel.

·       Having good SQL knowledge for creating dashboards in JIRA

·       Knowledge of Automation is nice to have.
