Business Overview:

The Transaction Banking division provides solutions to improve and optimize the working capital of financial institutions and corporate clients worldwide. This division encompasses four different businesses operating as a strategic unit to address core client needs:

  • Liquidity & Investment Advisory (LIA) is a product line responsible for increasing deposit volume and quality, offering short-term liquidity advisory service for the corporate client base.
  • International Cash Management provides solutions that enable our clients to move, manage and optimize their cash flows worldwide by leveraging the BNP Paribas global network.
  • Global Trade Solutions provides tailored services to clients to mitigate risk in trade transactions between buyers and sellers and to optimize working capital management.
  • Transaction Solutions for Banks supports the BNP Paribas global network and provides third-party financial institutions worldwide with comprehensive services to meet their domestic clients’ international payment and trade needs.

 

Responsibilities: 

Reports to a Head of Hispanic Latin America for Transaction Banking. The position will aid the Transaction Banking resource in Mexico (primarily), Argentina, and Colombia in realizing new or incremental GTS and Cash Management revenue-generating relationships. Responsibilities include:

 

  • Support the identification and origination of trade finance solutions (Documentary LCs, Performance and Trade SBLCs, Guarantees and related confirmations, etc.), Supply Chain Management Solutions (Inventory, Receivables, Payables) and Working capital advances (Import/Pre-Export Loans)
  • Actively engage with the identification, support, advancement of Sustainable Finance solutions
  • Contribute to adhoc projects (marketing plans, product development initiatives, identification of incremental sales opportunities, preparation of sector/client strategic plans, client pitches, research and analysis of market trends within the trade finance industry, etc.).
  • Support Mexico T&TS Manager and Head of Hispanic Latin America to coordinate with coverage, GTS Structuring and Portfolio Management teams as necessary to insure smooth handling of transactions
  • Help T&TS Mexico manage client relationships, address and resolve customer issues as they arise
  • Support Cash Management and LIA Manager with needs specific to the Mexico portfolio

 

Qualifications:

  • Desire to develop expertise in Trade Finance and Corporate Treasury services and to gain exposure to working directly with domestic and multi-national clients across multiple industries
  • Genuine interest in Sustainable Finance and helping the business grow in this space
  • Self-starter, entrepreneurial spirit, inquisitive and willing to take on any task
  • Resilient and committed; invested in leveraging technology to engaging with stakeholders 
  • Able to deliver under pressure and meet deadlines ; flexible hours (no more than 20  week)
  • A contributor of ideas and strong work ethic
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) proficiency a must
  • Experience preparing and delivering presentations 

 

Minimum required qualifications:

  • Fluent in Spanish
  • In pursuit of a B.A. or equivalent (finance or business majors not required)
  • Strong problem solving skills and insatiable desire to learn
  • Strong written, interpersonal communications, and presentations skills
