Position Purpose
The Head of Operations is responsible for managing the processing, settlement and all associated operational issues of transactions entered into by BNP Paribas Malaysia and BNPP Labuan Business Lines processed within the following sections:
Global Market Operations
- FX/Treasury settlements
- Derivatives (IRD, CDS, Options)
- Bonds
Cash Management Operations
- Loans, FTD and Remittances
Trade Finance Operations
- Trade Centre (Chain Supply Financing)
- Guarantees
Client Management
- On Boarding and recertification
- Referential
- Loan Documentation
AML / Controls
Regulatory Reporting
Key Responsibilities
To manage Corporate banking Operations teams including Cash Management operations and Trade finance Operations to process:
- Payment and Receipt
- Review current procedures periodically
- Trade Finance operations inclusive Import, Export, Bank guarantees, Trade Loans, LC confirmation and Supply chain operations.
To manage Capital markets operations team to process all products
- FX spot, forward, swap,
- Money Market
- Repo
- Derivatives (IRD, CCS, Options, CDS)
- Other new products
To manage Client Management tasks on
- all on boarding and recertification
- preparation of loan documents and line release
- CCRIS regulatory reporting
- Referential
Management tasks
- Appraiser for staffs' performance at the year end
- Prepare job description for staffs to meet challenging environment and arrange staffs movement to ensure smooth operations.
- Arrange staffs for block leave to ensure compliance. Granting access rights for staffs in sailpoint system
- Arrange in-house training for staffs to increase staffs knowledge in banking operation and regulatory issues
- Staffs recruitment
- Training and ensure transfer of knowledge to existing and new staff
- Allocate the resources and skills required to match the expected service performances.
- Ensure proper staff cross training to provide back-up.
Participation to meetings with various business lines, regional processing teams and regional process improvement teams:
- Actively work with regional Business Process Improvement teams and regional IT teams to improve process towards save time, more automation and less manual.
- Deeply work with Regional processing teams to enhance process between two parties. Main purpose less errors, less time consuming for process transactions.
- To lead staffs to solve clients , other parties complaint regarding to Operations' service
- To work with Trade and Cash management front office persons on composing a new workflow for new products; to modify the current process to meet client's needs. However maintaining strict compliance with internal and external regulations, procedures.
Other tasks
- Ensures that all controls are in place for correct processing and settlement of transactions Monitors operational risks through proper controls and data analysis (Level 1 and Level 2 controls).
- Provides Operations activities reporting
- Manages the projects to improve the performance of the department
- Defines and monitor the Service Level Agreements with external providers (HK operations team, ISPL in Mumbai, etc)
- Monitors operational risks through proper controls and data analysis (Level 1 and Level 2 controls).
- Ensure best productivity, efficiency and quality level in the Operations section
- Coordinate the implementation of process improvements in the department
- Provides Operations activities reporting
"Anti-Money laundering / Financial Sanctions ("AML/FS") related duties
- Operations are an integral part of the control framework including for AMUFS topics. In that respect, in performing your role you are expected to ensure adherence to AMUFS-related Group Policies and execution of associated operational controls, and to promptly escalate any resulting hit for analysis and decision."
