Business Overview of BNP Paribas Corporate & Institutional Banking - Energy & Infrastructure
The Energy & Infrastructure department is part of Real Assets EMEA and in charge of project finance in the EMEA Region. It is comprised of circa 130 professionals and has a leading position as adviser and arranger of limited-recourse financing solutions in the following main sectors across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
The team advises clients with respect to their debt financing needs, arranges and structures debt financing as mandated lead arranger, cross sells other products of the bank (including hedging and cash management solutions), acts as specialised coverage for certain clients and monitors its exposure to transactions on its book. The team is located in Paris, Brussels, London, Milan and Madrid.
The candidate will be part of the analyst team of the Credit Portfolio Management team (CPM) of Energy & Infrastructure (E&I) in Milan, team is in charge of the monitoring the project finance transactions in the EMEA as from the closing of it.
The team has an important sectorial knowledge and is focusing mainly on:
• Power (mainly renewables, such as Wind farms and Solar plants for the new transactions, as well as hydroelectric and conventional power in portfolio);
• Infrastructure (Concession-based companies in the gas and water sectors, waste-to-energy, airports, transportation, regulated assets etc.).
The expertise he/she will acquire will allow him/her to evolve in lending activities in the banking sector but also in investment activities on the sponsors side.
The team offers an opportunity to highly motivated interns to learn and develop analytical, legal, structuring, compliance and CSR skills.
Primary Responsibilities
He/she will be responsible for the monitoring of all deal risks post-closing, during construction and/or operation periods as relevant, for a portfolio of selected transactions, including without limitation:
o Prepare annual reviews on time, handle waiver requests, check that covenants are duly met as per the documentation, and generally handle all internal processes post-closing
o Ensure timely preparation of quarterly WL/DD reports
o Run and/or maintain financial models as needed
o Liaison with Loan Servicing, as well as with Agency when relevant
o Present in and/or attend credit committees
o As relevant attendance to bank meetings, client meetings and preparation of related reports
o Support SBO during the KYC renewal process
o Support the execution of certain refinancing’s, within a team determined on a case-by-case basis
o Support restructurings of deals in portfolio, as appropriate with the support of VPG and/or Transaction Group.
What we expect from you
- Education: Master’s degree in economics; Master degree in Management Engineering (Specialization in Finance).
- Behavioral skills: Rigorous, autonomous, willing to learn and entrepreneurial. Organised and synthetic. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, team player.
- Technical skills: Strong financial and credit analysis capabilities; fluent English and Italian (written and spoken). Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Past internship experience in Investment Banking could be a plus.
Contract type and Remuneration
The offer will be a full time 6-months internship and it’s dedicated to all students or recent graduates (twelve or less months after graduation).
The Company provide a monthly monetary contribution.
