About the job

  • Within the BNP Paribas Group RISK function, the RISK SGCP (Strategic Governance and Credit Platform) team is responsible among others, for leading and maintaining the Strategic Risk Governance Framework of the Group in close collaboration with the RISK Hubs, RISK Business Lines, and other RISK teams, enabling decisions on risk appetite and defining orientations on commercial strategies and corresponding risk policies
  • By integrating the Data Management team, the RISK GF Senior Data Analyst works in a best-in-class data management team, in an international and dynamic environment
  • The team works on a Big Data environment, with access to an ecosystem of Hadoop tools including Spark and Hive. Dataiku DSS (Data Science Studio) and Tableau are used as end user interface, providing a visual approach to the implementation of ETL (Extract Transform Load) pipelines and Dashboards respectively
  • IT solutions are granted by ITG, the IT entity servicing BNPP Group Functions. ITG supports the infrastructure on a daily-basis and helps with backend big data engineering and framework maintenance
  • The primary responsibility will be to handle big data, perform in-depth data analysis, notably to present data in valuable ways to see beyond the figures. Added value data visualizations are key for the SGCP department functional analysts to perform the credit portfolio analysis, notably Risk Appetite Statement monitoring of key sectors for the Group, Risk Weighted Asset assessment and explanation, amongst others
  • You will be in regular contact with the various SGCP teams in Lisbon, Paris and other regions, as well with partner RISK teams and ITG

Your Main Activities Are

  • Frame, design, implement, test, and deliver agile, innovative, and robust data visualization solutions to meet the needs of RISK users, with priority for RISK SGCP (CPA, SRA, and CRF teams)
  • Contribute to the rationalization and functional optimization of dashboards and their accessibility
  • Be proactive in proposing evolutions to implement in the data sources to simplify data models and facilitate exploitation by users as well as performance
  • Implement and maintain the technical and functional documentation of tools and processes
  • Work closely with data engineers to evolve the data foundation in line with the use cases of data visualization
  • Assess the integration of new features in data visualization tools and ensure technological watch around data visualization
  • Bring support as a data visualization expert to team members in Paris, Lisbon, and the regions
  • Train and coach as necessary more junior team members in new data visualization technologies and best practices
  • Contribute to “data” projects on various internal and regulatory credit risk topics (Credit Chain, B-Ready and Reboot…)
  • Contribute to disseminate a culture of data driven solutions within BNP Paribas and RISK notably
  • Regularly update the management of the department of progress achieved

Profile and Skills to Success

  • Master’s in Information Technology / Computer Science / Data Science / Mathematics and Statistics or related 
  • At least 3 years of experience in Data Visualization / Data Analytics or similar
  • Advanced level of English, both written and oral
  • Knowledge in
    1. Tableau Suite (Desktop, Server)
    2. SQL
    3. Dataiku
    4. Python
  • Attention to detail / rigor
  • Ability to manage a project
  • Ability to synthetise / simplify
  • Analytical ability
  • Communication skills, both written and oral
