About the Job 

  • Work with the team located in Lisbon and in London, in its effort to build a more quantitative infrastructure to support the analysis of sectors/companies/broader equity market

Your Main Activities Are

  • Maintain, and develop our centralised market data infrastructure to support trade idea generation, market analysis, communication to sales & trading
  • Continuously helping automate our process and develop tools to support and enhance 
    1. the trade idea generation process (backtest, signal driven indicators, analysing flows – sentiment indicators etc.) 
    2. produce a platform for disseminating information and content to Sales, Trading and Clients
  • Build indicators and systematic strategies (including back-testing infrastructure) to be able to generate signal driven trade ideas
  • Contribute to the development of systematic and industrialized innovative solutions to enhance investment strategies and analysis
  • Develop new tools and approach to equity analysis making use of innovative techniques (Machine Learning, web scrapping, sentiment analysis, news flows analysis, document analysis, etc)
  • Work closely with the AI lab to coordinate and bring technological innovation to equity derivatives research 
  • Stay updated on the latest AI advancements and industry trends to continuously improve our workflow process

Profile and Skills to Success

  • Computer Science, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Finance (Econometrics), or equivalent
  • Strong background in a quantitative field such as computer science, physics, mathematics, engineering, or finance
  • Up to 3 years of relevant experience
  • Fluency in English both oral and written (mandatory)
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python and knowledge of common numerical and machine-learning packages (NumPy, scikit-learn, pandas, Keras, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
  • Coding Knowledge: Very good knowledge of coding in Python, including object-oriented programming, debugging and logging techniques, SQL, and some knowledge of machine-learning packages (scikit-learn, Keras, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
  • Data Analysis: Knowledge of data analysis and time series analysis (regression, machine learning, etc.)
  • Interest in data analysis and financial analysis

About the Team

  • Markets 360 is made up of around 150 economists, strategists and analysts across the Americas, Western Europe, CEEMEA and Asia Pacific, who work closely together to create cross-asset perspectives 
  • With a focus on value-added research and thought leadership, the aim is to publish clear, timely and thought-provoking pieces on topics ranging from financial and economic forecasts to in-depth analysis of particular assets, economies and themes. We also work closely with other parts of the business in order to create models / tools that would allow us generate data-supported views
  • This role will be in Portugal, working closely with the Equity Derivatives Strategy team. It will focus on the equity and equity related products, including creating quantitative signals, market indicators and streamlining the current infrastructure to continue to provide innovative analytical applications to the wider group
