Business Area

BNP Paribas’ Global Markets business offers a broad range of products and services in the global interest rates, credit, currency, equities & commodity markets. Global Markets help their franchise of clients find effective ways to raise and invest capital as well as manage their exposure to risk. Their client base comprises of hundreds of corporations, institutional investors, banks, governments and supranational organisations. Global Markets has the scale and reach to conduct business anywhere in the world and deliver products denominated in almost all of the world’s currencies.


Digital Team is charged with driving innovation and digital transformation of Global Markets businesses across client platforms, internal tools and 3d party technologies. In addition, the team reinforces Global Markets’ relationship with fintech, aligned with Global Markets’ business strategies working together with the strategic investment team.


Job Purpose 


Purpose:  As a member of the eC&D you will be participating in building MVP for use cases utilising Large Language Models in Global Markets as well as tools around them. Working closely with other members of the team, delivering your own project as well as helping others and gaining exposure to day to day activities in global markets and helping to integrate new technology into these. You will be leveraging the latest AI capabilities in collaboration with the AI LAB, Tech and business teams, creating robust components and evaluation metrics.


We are open for this internship to be (full time) the industry placement part of a degree, subject to minimum length, confidentiality and prior agreement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in designing and implementing LLM solutions across Global Markets focusing on priority use cases raised by the business. 
  • Continuously monitor and improve performance and usage of solutions across the lifecycle, analysing data to identify areas for improvement and growth.
  • Share feedback/ ideas with AI-LLM Product Team to shape future capabilities, eliminate blockers, suggest improvements, and ensure reuse of (part/all) the delivered solutions across businesses.
  • Get up to speed and keep updated with the latest AI-related technologies and market developments.


Requirements

  • (In the process of certification) Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related technical field.
  • Strong programming skills (preferably Python).
  • Relevant experience applying LLM preferred.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of AI concepts.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to articulate technical concepts to business stakeholders.
  • Passion for technology, finance and “real world” problem solving.
