Description
You will contribute the Operational Risk Management (ORM) framework for the Securities Services business across the assigned country(ies). Reporting to senior risk leadership, you will independently design, implement and maintain a first‑line‑of‑defence risk programme that aligns with Group policies, support local risk analysts, and provide clear risk opinions to International Senior Management. As the face of the RISK ORM function in the region, you will drive strategic risk dialogue with country management, contribute to governance committees, and champion a strong risk culture through best‑practice sharing and training.
Senior/Expert Operational Risk Officer
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in operational risk management, preferably within financial services.
- Good knowledge of operational risk frameworks and standards
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to challenge existing processes constructively.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
- Fluent communication skills in English (C1). Fluency in French would be considered a nice to have.
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, Law, Risk Management, Business Administration or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (FRM, PRM, or equivalent) and experience delivering training or workshops are advantageous but not mandatory.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain the Operational Risk Management framework for Securities Services in line with Group policies, under guidance from senior risk team members.
- Support the First Line of Defence by establishing and reinforcing risk‑management processes that minimise operational risk exposure.
- Collaborate with, and independently challenge, local operational managers to ensure appropriate risk awareness and a robust risk‑mindset across the organization.
- Provide LoD2 risk indicators and evaluate the effectiveness of the control environment, delivering insights to local management and other stakeholders.
- Share best practices across the broader Risk Community to promote a consistent, group‑wide approach to operational risk.
- Design and deliver training sessions or workshops for business units to foster a strong risk culture and educate staff on risk mitigation strategies.
- Participate actively in local governance activities, contributing to risk reporting, issue escalation, and remediation planning.
