Description
You will own the Operational Risk Management (ORM) framework for the Securities Services business across the assigned country(ies). Reporting to senior risk leadership, you will independently design, implement and maintain a first‑line‑of‑defence risk programme that aligns with Group policies, support local risk analysts, and provide clear risk opinions to International Senior Management. As the face of the RISK ORM function in the region, you will drive strategic risk dialogue with country management, contribute to governance committees, and champion a strong risk culture through best‑practice sharing and training.
Global Operational Risk Management Expert
Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in operational risk management within the financial services sector and with exposure to multiple jurisdictions.
- Proven ability to design, implement and sustain an operational risk framework in line with Group‑wide policies.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; capable of delivering concise risk opinions to senior international stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills – able to establish strategic dialogue with country‑level senior management and to represent the risk function in governance forums.
- Demonstrated track record of promoting best practices and developing risk‑management strategies across a risk community.
- Fluency in English (minimum B2/C1) Fluency in French or Italian would be considered a plus.
- Proficiency with data‑analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau) and risk‑management software.
- University degree in Finance, Risk Management, Business, Law or a related discipline.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., FRM, PRM, ICAAR) are a plus but not mandatory.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to ORM framework for one or more countries, ensuring full alignment with Group policies and the first‑line‑of‑defence model.
- Develop and maintain a robust operational risk‑management program that minimizes risk exposure within the Securities Services line.
- Provide independent risk opinions and analyses to International Senior Management, leveraging expertise to drive effective risk mitigation.
- Represent the RISK ORM function in the assigned country(ies), acting as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders and external regulators where applicable.
- Establish strategic dialogue with country‑level management to embed risk awareness and a proactive risk mindset throughout the organization.
- Participate in governance committees, delivering LoD2 risk indicators, assessing control‑framework effectiveness, and supporting local management and other stakeholders with actionable insights.
- Promote and implement best practices across the wider Risk Community, proposing and shaping risk‑management strategies that ensure a consistent, group‑wide approach.
- Design and deliver training programmes for business lines; serve as the lead coach and mentor for team members, fostering a strong risk culture and enhancing risk‑mitigation capabilities.
- Support and guide junior risk analysts, providing day‑to‑day guidance, review of their work products, and career development support.
