What is this position about?

    Trade Services supports all Trade Financing activities of clients of BNP Paribas, Singapore Branch as well as requests from the network branches. The team handles the processing of Bank Guarantees, Import, Export and Supply Chain transactions.  

    The TSMO will be responsible to process the transactions in a timely and efficient manner.  Besides direct client interaction and advisory on transactional trade-related matters, the position also requires the TSMO to co-ordinate with Front Office, Back Office and functions during the course of daily activities.


What would be your typical day at BNPP Paribas look like?


Primary Role Responsibilities

    Liaise and coordinate with the Back Office to ensure smooth processing of transactions within the set turnaround times.

    Liaise with Front Office and other stakeholders whenever necessary for transactions related to customer's requirements or irregular transactions.

    Handle internal and external customers' inquiries effectively and provide advice on trade products.

    Ensure that all transactions and tasks assigned are processed/carried out in accordance with the Operating/Compliance procedures.

    Initiate and input transactions as and when required.

    Verify and approve transactions within their authority level as and when required.

    Perform weekly/monthly reporting.

    Monitor and follow up on outstanding issues including new issuance, amendment, cancellation, charges, commission and interest etc.

    Ensure appropriate escalation to management and/or permanent control (or Compliance as appropriate) as soon as an issue is identified.


Other contributions

    Comply with internal and external regulatory and Compliance requirements.

    Minimize operational failure, including but not exclusively the risk of fraud by helping to devise and by implementing sufficient regular controls.

    Perform any other duties delegated by Team Manager from time to time.


What is required for you to succeed?

    Positive attitude with good interpersonal and communication skills

    Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and has good team spirit

    Meticulous, efficient with good analytical and follow-up skills

    Client service oriented

    Knowledge of Compliance and AML topics

    Preferably at least 2 years of experience in handling Trade products such as Import, Export, Bank Guarantees and Supply Chain.


Required education/certification/licenses

    Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

    Working knowledge of ICC Rules such as Guarantees (URDG 758), Standby Letter of Credit (ISP 98) and Documentary Credit (UCP 600) and Collections (URC 522) 

    Good PC knowledge and skills
