AML Transaction Monitoring L1 Team Leader, AVP
The Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Transaction Monitoring L1 Team Leader mission is to perform and ensure reviews of AML automated alerts closed by the Level 1 AML team, ensuring that all prescribed procedures are strictly followed. In addition, provide technical support for the area and mentors team members.
Main responsibilities:
- Perform ongoing AML/CTF risk monitoring on clients and account transactions covered by Brazil AML Activity
- Prioritize and conclude the alerts as quickly as possible and within the indicative target timelines without compromising the quality and completeness of the analysis
- Provide guidance to the AML L1 officers on how to treat AML/CTF alerts in cases involving difficult judgments and/or complex transactional schemes or whenever a new procedure/policy is issued
- Ensure escalation of alerts to local Compliance is proper, in a timely manner and supported by relevant information and due diligence search results
- Collaborate and work in tandem with team members and relevant stakeholders. Lead and enable constructive interactions with key stakeholders and leverage on that network to facilitate communication, share best practices and overcome blocking points
- Assist in AML projects and user testing assessments as and when required
- Comply with operational procedure and other relevant policies and procedures of BNPP as well as relevant AML/CFT/Sanctions laws and regulations; and keep updated on latest trends of AML/CFT laws and regulations, and industry best practices
- Be supportive and adoptive to changes of procedures and scope of works
- Contribute to a Continuous Improvement culture, fostering efficiencies’ proposals aligned with AML alerts monthly target
- Ensure day to day tasks are processed with high quality and service level and guarantee the quality and timetable for processing alerts by organizing, checking and coordinating the different tasks within the AML L1 BAU team
- Provide team members with mentoring, feedback, appraisals, performance management and team building while also contributing to the improvement of the efficiency of the team
- Support the Manager of the ITO AML L1 Brazil in the general management of transversal and organizational issues across the department
Position Requirements:
- higher education in Administration, Economics, Accounting, Law or related areas
- Relevant experience in compliance/AML KYC in the financial industry, with specific knowledge of local AML requirements in Brazil
- Fluency in English
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel
- Notions of data analytics tools, such as Power BI, Python
- Previous experience on coordinating/supervising a team
- Knowledge of NICE Actimize
