Job Title: AVP (FXMM‑OTCD Settlements)

Department: Markets Operations (FXMM‑OTCD)

About Business line/Function: The FXMMOTC business line drives the origination, execution and post‑trade processing of all over‑the‑counter foreign‑exchange and money‑market transactions across the bank’s global client base. It delivers end‑to‑end trade lifecycle services—including confirmation, collateral management, DVP settlement and exception handling—while adhering to the highest standards of risk control, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. Leveraging a unified technology platform and a worldwide network of clearing partners, the team ensures seamless, timely and secure settlement outcomes that underpin BNPParibass liquidity and pricing capabilities in the FX‑MM markets.

Position Purpose: 

The FXMM Derivative & Bonds Back Office is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Vice President to join the BNP Operations team. The role is responsible for managing and providing functional supervision to settlement teams for FX, Money‑Market and Bonds products. The focus is on meeting pre‑defined SLAs, monitoring and escalating key issues, and driving proactive partnership with the business and external parties through product‑ and process‑expertise, while collaborating with functional leads.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

  • Ownership and accountability of Bonds, Derivative and FX trade settlement and accounting processes.
  • Ensure timely settlement of time‑critical payments (internal and external).
  • Build and maintain Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Operational ERS programs.
  • Review, own and resolve key risk and control issues; drive continuous process improvement.
  • Interact with senior management to ensure transparency and delivery of business requirements.
  • Supervise overall service delivery, managing risk and strategy for effective business delivery.
  • Monitor, manage and appropriately escalate KRIs.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for controls, governance, change strategies and tech automation.
  • Develop and implement department‑wide policies and procedures; direct day‑to‑day operations.
  • Ensure adherence to governance, compliance, risk policies and procedures; enable staff escalation where needed.
  • Review existing processes to improve performance, efficiency and risk management.
  • Conduct complex analysis to enhance straight‑through processing, client experience, regulatory performance and competitive standing.
  • Participate as an active member of the management team on global footprint and strategic direction matters.
  • Lead firm‑wide people initiatives, especially within ISPL, and replicate best practices.
  • Participate in external market developments and initiatives.
  • Maintain detailed understanding of regulatory changes and their impact on managed functions.
  • Represent BNPParibas at industry forums, positioning the firm as a leader and driving industry change.
  • Manage operational costs to stay within budget and identify cost‑reduction opportunities without compromising performance.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

  • In‑depth knowledge of Bonds, FX Money‑Market and OTC Derivatives products and settlement lifecycles.
  • Strong grasp of regulatory requirements and risk‑management principles.
  • Experience with Business Continuity Planning, Operational ERS, and straight‑through processing.
  • Ability to analyze complex operational data and drive process optimization.
  • Proficiency with operations technology and systems (e.g., settlement platforms, monitoring tools).
  • Leadership & people‑management

Specific Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or a related field (required).
  • Minimum15years of operations experience, with at least5years in FXMM and OTC derivatives.
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams 
  • Proven expertise in Bonds, FXMM and OTC derivatives processes.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and risk‑management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Experience with operations technology and systems is a plus.
