Business Overview:

The Latin America region is a key market for BNP Paribas. While Brazil remains the largest economy in Latin America, other major countries in the region are significant contributors for the business and for long standing relations with clients. 

Long standing presence in Argentina. Since 1981 the group offers a wide range of banking, financial products designed for domestic and multinational clients. 

CIB in Hispanic Latin America has world-class teams of roughly 400, thus ensuring an overall coverage of BNP Paribas’ client franchise in the region. All BNP Paribas’ business lines have operations in Hispanic Latin America and are structured in such a way as to provide their clients with the best combination of specialists according to sector, product or geographic region. Job Purpose

 

Highly qualified and committed professional to lead the bank’s local tax function. The candidate will act as the single point of contact for all tax-related matters, combining strong technical expertise with hands-on operational execution. This role requires both senior-level judgment and the willingness to take ownership of day-to-day tax processes

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Comply with highest conduct standards.
  • Ensure timely and accurate compliance with all local tax obligations and maintain the fiscal calendar up to date.
  • Prepare and file tax returns (national and provincial), including VAT, income tax, gross income, withholdings, and perceptions.
  • Monitor and validate tax-related processes (retention and perception).
  • Assist in the preparation and documentation of Transfer Pricing reports.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local tax regulations and ensure compliance with changes in law.
  • Collaborate with BLs and Operations teams to assess the tax implications of new products or process changes.
  • Calculate and record monthly tax provisions.
  • Appropriately allocate input VAT and manage related accounting entries.
  • Establish tax control plans in accordance with Group guidelines and ensure proper execution.
  • Respond to queries from business lines regarding tax matters.
  • Manage inspections, information requests and audits from national and local tax authorities and from the Group.
  • Coordinate reporting obligations with the Group Tax team, including FATCA and AEoI (OECD).
  • Participate in tax-related regulatory forums (NACs) and contribute insights as required.

 

 

Qualifications

 

Techincal: 

  • Solid understanding of Argentine tax legislation and regulatory financial environment.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing tax filings and interacting with ARCA (AFIP) and AGIP.
  • Strong control approach. 
  • Prior exposure to transfer pricing, VAT analysis, and tax provisioning processes.
  • Strong command of accounting concepts relevant to tax treatment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English, with ability to engange in conversations and write professional emails. This is a must. (Intermediate advanced or Advanced level). 
  • Familiarity with financial products will be considered an asset.

Qualifications:

 

  • University degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Tax roles, preferably in financial institutions or Big 4 firms.
