The position at a glance

Corporate and Institutional Banking is the foundation on which the BNP Paribas Americas relationship franchise is built. Our Global Banking division provides sophisticated and diversified expertise in capital markets, transaction banking, risk management, specialized financing solutions and financial advisory services for our global clients. We combine our global expertise and local presence to better align the complex needs of our multinational clients.

Corporate Coverage North America is responsible for advising large U.S. based corporate clients and delivering an array of the firm's services across strategically targeted client groups in various business sectors.



 

In detail

Interns will work with Senior Coverage Bankers to own client relationships and better understand a client’s needs, support transaction origination efforts by researching industry-wide financial information, performing financial statement and capital structure analysis of clients, creating pitch books, and modeling initial credit assessments. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in client relationship management, financial analysis, and strategic business support within a dynamic banking environment. Additionally, interns will:

  • Keep Senior Bankers up to date on all developments (financial and otherwise) in the covered sectors and specific clients
    • Prepare client meeting materials, including pitch decks, financial overviews and briefing notes
  • Have the opportunity to work within sectors (Diversified Industries, Technology, Media & Telecommunications, Consumers/Retail, Healthcare, MNC, Low Carbon Transition and Infrastructure)
    • Understand product offerings and solutions that enhance BNP Paribas as a top-tier European bank within client financial growth plans and strategic initiatives
    • Develop unique sector knowledge by analyzing market trends and current events
    • Create strategic sector and/or client presentation materials
    • Support day-to-day operations
  • Develop a robust dialogue with key stakeholders across departments and functions (Credit, Risk, Product Lines, etc)
  • Build rapport and network with current BNP Paribas professionals
  • Excel in final project presentation(s) to senior management 


Work conditions: This position provides for standard working conditions in an office and a normal work schedule from Monday to Friday.

ELLIGBILITY:
  • Our internship programs are a springboard for university students to launch their careers through exciting and intellectually stimulating opportunities. To succeed amongst our teams, we look for those with a strong academic story, sharp analytical skills, and the ability to articulate ideas well-to clients and colleagues alike.
  • Graduation year of Fall 2026 – Winter 2027
  • Must be able to work in the local premises 
  • Be 18 and over
  • Have at least one more semester left after completion of internship


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Effective verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent academic credentials. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a focus on Finance or Accounting is preferred, but other degrees will also be considered.
  • Client relationship skills; ability to articulate ideas well-to clients and colleagues alike.
  • Modeling and valuation skills
  • Proactive, self-motivated and has integrity
  • Organized; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a challenging environment
  • Work transversally across the organization and maintain high standards of professionalism in all dealings with team members.
  • Strong Microsoft OS (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Knowledge of the English language*


*Given the vast majority of our clients, both internal and external, are based outside of Quebec and Canada, specific language requirements may apply. Professional working proficiency in English language is required.
