About the job

    • The mission of RISK Market & Financial Institutions (“RISK MFI”) is to provide the Senior Management of the Group, of the RISK Function and of Global Markets (“GM”) and of BP2S with full transparency and dynamic analysis and monitoring of market, counterparty, valuation and liquidity risks originated and managed by CIB and of credit risks on Financial Institutions in order to assist them in their risk decision making and monitoring
    • Currently, RISK MFI Platform works on an Agile@Scale step-up as part of the Market, Counterparty and Liquidity Cluster (“MCL Cluster”). The RISK MFI Digital chapter (team) is composed by a group of data analysts that support the monitoring of the risks above mentioned and are part of the MCL Cluster tribes
    • The Digital chapter develops tools and industrialise many processes of the RISK MFI department. Projects have a strong focus on the use of new technologies to build tools that improve the risk management of the bank, with a strong focus on improving the user experience and making better use of the vast amount of available data. Past projects have focused on automation of processes in Python, app development with interactive visualisations, BOT development, APIs
    • The Digital chapter works in close collaboration with the RISK IT department, making sure best practices are followed and to target a smooth path to production of the tools developed by the team. This also means that for some projects, the Digital chapter codes directly in the official production systems under the guidance of RISK IT colleagues
    • The foremost element of the role is to drive development projects, related to risk management, to completion
    • The role requires a dynamic problem-solving approach to achieve real added value by improving the efficiency and robustness of existing processes and improving the risk monitoring. This is achieved in close collaboration with the risk management subject matter experts. As such, the role requires close coordination and collaboration with other RISK MFI teams and squads. As the main target of the team is to focus on building robust tools, a close collaboration with the RISK IT department is key

Your Main Activities Are

    • Analyse, re-engineer processes and implement in Python to harmonise such processes, improve efficiency, and reduce operational risk related to existing practices
    • Improve risk insight by making better use of data and improved visualisations
    • Focus on the path to production of the tools delivered by the team, making sure best practices are followed when developing tools, to simplify migration to a full industrial setup at a later stage
    • In addition to developing coding skills, the role enables the individual to gain knowledge across all elements of RISK MFI, covering market and/or counterparty risk. This includes all asset classes as well as all workflows and processes. Understanding the risk processes is key to delivering the best outcome of a project
    • Stakeholder and relationship building skills are necessary to ensure the individual can leverage the best outcomes for each project. In addition, project management skills are required to drive the various projects to completion

Profile and Skills to Success

    • Bachelor Degree in Engineering / Finance / Mathematics / Sciences / Economics / Econometrics / Computer Science or related      
    • Advanced level of English, both written and oral
    • Knowledge in Programming language with a focos on Data Analytics (dictionaries / list / packages – NumPy, Pandas)
    • Attention to detail / rigor
    • Active listening
    • Ability to collaborate / teamwork
    • Analytical ability
    • Communication skills, both written and oral
    • Client focused
