About Business line/Function:

Global Markets - Custody and Clearance

The Global Markets business of BNP Paribas helps its corporate and institutional clients leverage capital markets across the globe for their financing, risk management and investment needs. This encompasses a wide range of financial products ranging from Foreign exchange to complex Equity Derivatives that are traded in financial markets across the globe 24/7. IT systems are integral to the business and are a key part of the value proposition to clients. These IT systems range from industry standard products for standard process automation to internally developed, often, market leading IT applications. The IT teams owning these IT systems are made up of functions that include Technical and Application production support, Business Analysis & Project Management, Development & Maintenance and Quality Control. BNP Paribas India Solutions is an equal partner in these IT functions along with colleagues in other locations including Paris, London, New York, Tokyo, Singapore & Hong Kong. This partnership ranges from sharing the IT work load, executing global strategy to owning global applications offshore. Position Purpose

Developer will be part of COSMO team. The Client Management IT group in Global Markets IT provides full life cycle development, testing and support for a range of Referential and Client Service related applications and web portals.  The software is used internally, but globally. Developer will be working on various development projects, enhancements and supporting level 3 issues. Developer will coordinate with Project Manager’s to communicate status and report issues for development deliverables.

  • Development and testing of new features for an application that distributes settlement instructions and account master data to downstream systems.     There are also a variety of portals that support custom processes for our Client Service groups.  Work required in both Windows services and in IIS based web environments. 
  • Identify potential design, process and/or system changes to optimize performance, and mitigate risks.
  • Carry out exploratory development to integrate new components into existing software.
  • Keep up with industry trends and best practices
  • Identify performance bottlenecks, profile applications & tune SQL queries.
  • Hands-on with development, technical delivery, review, and testing.
  • Level 3 Application Support – Working with users to diagnose data and application problems.
  • Infrastructure Liaison – Work with the hardware infrastructure team to perform migrations to new application servers and databases when necessary. 
  • Review work done by team members and guide junior team members.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

  • Proficiency in .NET framework, C# , ASP.NET  , Angular (>7) , .NET Core and SQL Server 
  • Strong understanding of OOPS concepts, design patterns and SOLID principles
  • Good knowledge on  REST API , WCF services , Javascript , JQuery
  • Have extensive experience in developing and managing Web applications using .NET Framework
  • Good understanding on Relational databases and should be able to use SQL.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • 2 years’ experience working in the Capital Markets/Corporate Banking Industry.     Knowledge of operations, trading systems and a good general industry orientation/affinity is imperative.
  • Possessing interpersonal and communication skills needed to coordinate and work effectively with a geographically and functionally diverse range of departments.
  • Being able to work under pressure in a challenging environment, and to deal with confrontational situations. Able to manage relationships and negotiate in order to convince and find consensus.
  • Pro-active in rearranging his/her priorities and solving issues where requested.  Has to be hands on, rigorous and methodical. Familiarity with other tools such as Sybase client, JIRA etc. for problem tracking.
