What is this position about?


    Establish Department as a keen business partner and play a contributory role to the Bank’s business strategy.

    Formulate and oversee the development of critical business risk related strategy/policies with a balanced orientation towards business growth, managed risk, efficiency, enhance productivity and quality service.

    To identify, evaluate, monitor, report and control/mitigate risks and to properly document risk management strategies, policies and procedures


What would be your typical day at BNPP Paribas look like? 


Candidate will assist the Head of Governance & Advisory, WM APAC Conduct and Control to ensure the existence of a risk-based, sustainable and efficient framework surrounding Operational and Business risks, in collaboration with the Business of WM in APAC. This role sits within the first line of defense (1 LoD).


Primary Role Responsibilities


    Support the Team Lead in coordinating global regulatory topics for WM APAC 

    Act as Single Point of Contact ('SPOC') for HO and Local Management on such topics 

    Understand the requirements, assess the implications/impact on WM APAC sites and act as the key coordinator/contributor to ensure timely and effective implementation of the necessary actions and processes

    Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure end to end program management of key US and EU regulatory projects

    Implement regulatory control framework to address regulatory requirements and Group expectations 

    Reporting - ensure key risks and its mitigating actions are reported to Management in a timely and consistent manner

    Analyze impacts of all key global regulatory texts/circulars/guidance to WM APAC sites in consultation with Legal and Compliance

    Ensure HO procedures are properly adapted/adopted within local procedures and ensure any gaps are properly addressed or escalated to HO via the existing dispensation process

    Act as the business coordination point for internal audits and BAU processes (e.g. certifications, policy reviews etc.) for relevant regulatory topics

    Provide advisory support and advice to business for regulatory related queries or issues


Other contributions


Cross Border

    Coordinate opinions / feedback from internal stakeholders (Compliance, Legal etc.) and external service providers/lawyers on cross border country manuals, topics and queries

    Management of Cross-border Certification and access management to country manuals.

    Preparation of monthly / quarterly reports to be presented in Cross-border Committee meeting - ensure that the report preparation process is efficient, data integrity is maintained and reports are issued on a timely basis

    Coordinate implementation and updates on relevant cross border related policies

    Implementation and monitoring of controls and remediation plans

    Provide advisory support to FO and relevant stakeholders related to cross border topics 

Pre-trade Client Suitability Assessment for Private Equity Funds


    Perform pre-trade Client Suitability Assessment for PE Funds

    Based on assessment, assist FO to carry out necessary actions for proper rectification with clients (E.g. mismatch handling). 


What is required for you to succeed?

    Strong understanding of risk control framework within Wealth Management 

    Ability to collaborate effectively 

    Ability to manage / facilitate a meeting, seminar, committee, training 

    Attention to details with good communication skills both written and orally 


Required education/certification/licenses


    Experience in project management related certification will be an advantage
