We are recruiting one Graduate to integrate the GM Data and AI Lab Team, within the Global Markets Front Office Business Area.
About the Business Area:
Global Markets is BNP Paribas’ capital markets business within Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB), delivering solutions across asset classes, and industry-leading services for clients including Institutional, corporate, private banks and retail distribution networks. Our Portugal Platform (Porto and Lisbon) is a major HUB in Europe and certainly unique in the country by its size and its scope of activity, with all Front Office roles present (Trading, Sales, Research, Structuring, Quant & Engineering, Business Dev and Support, Marketing & Client Support, Risk Management, Data Analytics and Machine Learning…). About the Team:
This GM Data and AI Lab is a small team of data scientists applying the latest techniques in Artificial Intelligence, Data modelling and Natural Language Processing to strategic projects for the business.
About the LAB Data Science Graduate’s Role:
During the first year, the Graduate will complete one 6-month rotation in the GM Data and AI Lab Team, followed by a second 6-month rotation in the Quantitative Data Intelligence Team. After completing the 2 rotations, in September 2026, the Graduate will integrate the GM Data and AI Lab Team.
GM Data and AI Lab Team Responsibilities:
- Explore and examine data from multiple diverse data sources
- Conceptual modeling, statistical analysis, predictive modelling and optimization design
- Data clean-up, normalization and transformation
- Hypothesis testing: being able to develop hypothesis and test with careful experiments
- Discover hidden insights/embedded patterns and enable business stakeholders to make decisions that are more informed
- Help build workflows for extraction, transformation and loading of different data from a variety of sources and enable linking them to existing systems and datasets
About the Graduate’ Profile and Skills:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, other science or engineering field
- Knowledge of key concepts in Statistics and Mathematics such as Probability Theory, Inference, and Linear Algebra
- Knowledge or experience in Machine Learning procedures and tasks such as Classification, Prediction and Clustering
- Programming skills in Python and knowledge of common numerical and machine-learning packages (NumPy, Scikit-learn, Pandas, Keras, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
- Knowledge of data analytics, manipulation and visualization technique
- Excellent fluency in English
- Availability for a full-time permanent position from 1 September 2025
- Maximum of 2 years of working experience (including internships)
