Description

Position Purpose

A corporate banking associate’s responsibility is to assist the Head of Local Corporates Coverage and relationship managers (RMs) in managing and developing their corporates portfolio and prospecting new clients under guidance of RM. Such responsibilities include completing required documentations as part of client onboarding/ new facilities set-up, coordinating with product and CTCM teams in pitching and product structuring, undergoing credit committee process and managing end-to-end seamless deal execution. He/ She also covers the assessment of Compliance, CSR and ESG of corporate clients/ prospects. 

 

Internally, CB associate tracks utilization of facilities and client’s revenue contribution to monitor portfolio performance and takes part in annual budget and pipeline monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

 

Marketing and Business:

 

  • Work closely with Head of Local Corporates Coverage and RMs in day-to-day relationship management for the assigned accounts and/or transactions
  • Under RM’s guidance, provide a wide range of products solutions to client, e.g. cash management, trades, loans, global markets and corporate finance to support client’s overall business activities. Such task includes term sheets/ proposal submission, RAROC simulation and loan / deposit quotations, when required.
  • Assist RMs in originating new business opportunities, including identifying cross-selling, conducting company/ industry analysis and preliminary credit assessment and researching on any other relevant market information 
  • Coordinate with Product teams, CTCMs, BNPP’s international offices and other internal parties for marketing activities and transaction executions as agreed with RM.
  • Prepare credit information and justifications as part of credit approval/ annual review process, participate in credit committee, as required, and cautiously monitor credit risk associated to the portfolio
  • Complete documentation process, e.g. Finance documents, Board Resolution, ISDA agreements and any other required documents, for client’s onboarding and new credit facilities set-up 
  • Attend client meetings to ensure completion of follow-up actions and assist in call reports as assigned
  • Conduct client budget exercise and monitor performance of clients portfolio 
  • At the consideration of Head of Local Corporates Coverage, CB Associate may be assigned to cover a client portfolio in order to gain knowledge and experience, which will enable him/ her to better understand marketing and client management.

 

 

Risk/ Credit monitoring and compliance with bank’s policies and regulatory requirements:  

  • Assist RMs in ensuring annual review, KYC review and CSR screening/ assessments are done in due time
  • Closely partner with Client Management team to support smooth and efficient client on-boarding process and day-to-day banking activities
  • Ensure local amendments to regional legal documentations (e.g. facility letters, security documents, ISDA agreement) comply with the defined frameworks and guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with Bank’s policies/procedures and regulatory requirements, in particular with regards to the KYC responsibilities and duties, as per relevant policies and procedures.
  • Assist RMs on account allocation database, Client1st reporting (deal pipeline, opportunities and call memos), list of clients and prospect lists
  • Prepare briefing memo as assigned by RMs and relevant pitch book/ marketing materials 

 

Permanent Control

 

  • Direct contribution to BNP Paribas operational permanent control framework
  • Ensure that all work done complies with the operational permanent control, legal and regulatory framework and requirement.
  • Follow strictly our internal compliance guidelines and procedures.
  • Awareness of ISO27001: 2013 information security: An Information Security Management System (ISMS) is an International Standard that specified the requirements for establishing, implementation, maintaining and continually improving this ISMS. It is the responsibility of all the staff of BNP Paribas Bangkok Branch to contribute to this common objective.
