About BNP Paribas Corporate and Institutional Banking in Mexico
BNP Paribas Corporate and Institutional Banking has had a representation office in Mexico since 1966. Since then BNP Paribas has played an important role in financing Mexico’s development into the 21st century. BNP Paribas was one of the founders of Banco Nacional de Mexico (Banamex), one of Mexico’s largest banks, at the end of the 19th century, and stayed as a minority shareholder until the nationalization of the banking system in 1982. BNP was first established in Mexico more than half a century ago also acting as an important shareholder in Banco del Atlántico until 1982
BNP Paribas Mexico is expanding and has started operating in 2021 a full-fledged Mexican bank to better serve its clients through local operations performing local and global markets activities. Operations out of BNP Paribas Mexico include in particular trading and market making activities on interest rate derivatives, forex (spot and forward), bonds, repos and reverse repos on MBonos, UDI and Bonos. The coverage activities focusing on Mexican corporate and institutional clients will remain and expand.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job Purpose:
Contribute to the Enterprise Services area objectives, through the completion of the assigned duties and responsibilities.
Procurement & Performance
• Execute the permanent control framework, particularly in terms of assessing and controlling risks relating to suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with group policies, standards, and procedures as well as local procurement and general services regulations.
• Manage the receipt of invoices from third parties, validate them with the corresponding RMs, request the applicable approvals.
• Close communication with the accounts payable area for the payment of third-party invoices and receive payment vouchers to notify third parties.
• Support in P&P activities when required.
Workplace & Corporate Services
• Maintain offices.
• Support projects in case of remodelling or adaptation of bank offices.
• Supervision of good office conditions (facilities, furniture and equipment)
• Support in W&CS activities when required.
Third Party Risk Management
Is responsible for identifying and assessing risk relating to the operational and business management processes of BNP Paribas. This includes risk identification, management, and monitoring, reporting, oversight of framework execution and ownership of the third-party management tool.
Coordinates efforts, facilitates risk management activities and business owner awareness of third-party risk. Analyst plays a role of transversal control unit supporting businesses and functions in third party management activities.
Oversee risk assessment and due diligence processes and ensure they are properly performed in selecting new vendors.
• Assist in preparation for the management and risk committees.
• Preparation of annual assessment forms and ongoing monitoring.
• Help prepare presentations around third party program.
• Coordination with multiple stakeholders and produce documentation for the quarterly VAC meetings and ad hoc eVACs
• Regular contact with lines of business to monitor vendors for important incidents and help prepare escalations reports as required.
• Monitor Policies & Procedures and responsible for maintenance of the vendor risk management system.
• Responsible for enforcement of vendor risk management Policies & Procedures on a bank-wide basis.
• Responsible to document all types of services exchanged between the different entities of BNP Paribas.
Financial Security
Knowledge: must have a clear understanding of BNPP Group policies and requirements, and their own obligations under these standards. This includes ensuring that they understand the regulatory and Group requirements in relation to Financial Security, both are a general level, and specifically related to their role.
Financial Security related matters include those connected to: antimony laundering (AML); countering the financing of terrorism (CFT); international financial sanctions and embargoes (IFS); anti-bribery and corruption (ABC); KYS ongoing related data screening; and transaction monitoring.
Request data and documentation to suppliers to execute the Know Your Supplier procedure as KYS Maker
• Request the documentation to the suppliers by email.
• Receive the documentation and complete the checklist (according with the KYS Procedure)
• Complete the KYS Due Diligence Form
• Archive and organize physically and virtually the suppliers documents (Contracts, Enrollment Documents), according with the KYS procedure.
• Execute the screenings according with the procedure, using the different tools described in the policies.
• Fulfilment of KYS Policy according with the BNP Paribas Group
Execute administrative activities as:
• Make phone calls to request information from suppliers.
• Send emails to request information from suppliers.
• Prepare power points / decks to inform status and performance.
Procedures update & Training:
• Keeping area procedures updated.
• Train staff in KYS and TPRM processes.
Competences and Experience
Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree preferably in a business related field.
• Basic to intermediate English Level
• Excel, Word, Power Point tools strong written and interpersonal communications skills.
