Hedge Fund Accountant

Requirements:

• Over 1 to 3 years of experience in fund accounting, preferably in a hedge fund or similar environment
• Fluent English
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment (Teamwork)
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• High attention to detail and rigor, with a strong focus on accuracy and quality
• Proactive approach to work, with the ability to identify and resolve issues promptly
• Strong understanding of hedge fund structures, strategies, and operations

Responsibilities:

• Net Asset Value (NAV) Calculation and Review: Prepare and review NAV calculations for simple hedge funds to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with client service agreements. This includes verifying the accuracy of financial data, identifying and resolving discrepancies, and ensuring that all calculations are completed in accordance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and report any operational or technical issues to senior staff or the Team Leader, ensuring prompt escalation to relevant teams to prevent delays or inaccuracies in delivery. This includes maintaining open communication channels with internal teams, such as IT, operations, and compliance, to resolve issues efficiently.
• Investigate standard queries from internal and external parties, such as clients, auditors, or regulatory bodies, to resolve existing issues and ensure accurate delivery. This includes responding to inquiries, providing clear explanations, and offering solutions to resolve queries in a timely and professional manner. More complex queries will be escalated to senior colleagues for further assistance.
• Participate in cross-training sessions within the team to expand knowledge and skills, minimizing dependency on individual team members. This includes staying up-to-date with industry developments, regulatory changes, and best practices in hedge fund accounting, as well as sharing knowledge and expertise with colleagues to promote a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
• Foster close relationships with team members, internal clients, and external parties to ensure effective information exchange and smooth issue resolution. This includes maintaining open communication channels, providing regular updates, and responding to inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Collaborate with internal teams, such as operations, compliance, and IT, to ensure seamless delivery of NAV calculations and resolve any issues that may arise.
• Stay up-to-date with industry developments, regulatory changes, and best practices in hedge fund accounting, and apply this knowledge to improve processes and procedures.
• Participate in team meetings, contribute to discussions, and provide input on process improvements and knowledge sharing.
