About Business line/Function: 

Created in 2009, BNP Paribas CIB Consulting & Transformation (CIBC&T) is an in-house management consultancy with a strong presence in EMEA (~100 consultants in Paris, Lisbon, and London) and a global reach thanks to an integrated network in APAC & Americas (~100 consultants).

The team works on strategic initiatives defined by CIB Senior Management. It has a strong track-record with 600+ projects accomplished to date. CIBC&T is a competitive alternative to leading, external consulting firms, covering the full consulting value chain: from framing, diagnosis, and delivery of actionable recommendations, to designing effective implementation and enabling change.

BNP Paribas CIB Consulting & Transformation (CIBC&T) India is a newly created team, globally part of CIB Consulting & Transformation based in Paris and locally linked to the business management scope of BNP Paribas’ center of expertise India Solutions Private Limited (ISPL). Its goal is to advise BNP Paribas’ Management, participating in the framing, design and implementation of high-impact projects and operating models’ transformations aimed at supporting global Functions & CIB Business lines and notably the development of the local territory and (global) center of expertise (India Solutions Private Limited – ISPL). 

Position Purpose

Principals within CIBC&T provide strategic support to Senior Management in the transformation of BNP Paribas India (territory), its global center of expertise, India Solutions Private Limited (ISPL), and BNP Paribas CIB globally, in collaboration with BNP Paribas CIB Consulting & Transformation EMEA as well as CIB Consulting APAC and CIB Transformation APAC. Principals function as key pillars in the delivery of consulting and project management activities by working effectively with relevant teams and maintaining the highest quality standards at all times. They are equally expected to take an extended role in the development of the team, including the mentoring and developing of the junior consultants and in the case of the team set-up in India support the local Head of Team in the build-up of the team and progressively establishing the team with key (client) stakeholders. Some travel might be required on an ad-hoc basis.

Responsibilities

Project management:

  • Provide consulting expertise at the heart of BNP Paribas India (Territory), its global center of expertise India Solutions Private Limited (ISPL) and BNP Paribas CIB globally.
  • Take the leadership on complex local projects, ensuring the successful execution and delivery of concrete and high-quality recommendations to the Bank’s top management.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership vis-à-vis senior management and act as a reference point for consulting and project management knowledge to the team.
  • Connect the dots with other projects locally and across the CIB C&T network and previous experiences.
  • Ensure meaningful project structures and governance and manage and develop relationships with project sponsors and other key stakeholders.
  • Oversee the project team’s activities and ensure quality of delivery in alignment with senior management expectations.
  • Drive change and use positive influence to ensure the client transformation is aligned with the global strategy of the Bank (local strategy for local mandates).
  • Establish connectivity and build long-term relationships with our internal clients (Métiers and Functions), anticipating their needs, identifying risks and proposing adapted solutions.

 

Team development:

  • In coordination with the Head of Team function as a key pillar in the development of the team, contributing to the build-up, growing the team's brand equity and reputation.
  • Be recognized as a reference point and a structuring pillar of the team, demonstrating leadership in building a meaningful team in accordance with the Head of Team.
  • Identify team members' training and development opportunities and leverage on training paths already in place for CIB Consulting & Transformation, provide coaching, motivate and contribute directly to their performance.
  • Enhance team involvement on transversal topics related to team development.
  • Contribute to reinforce the CIBC&T overall team (and jointly the C&T network) through expertise and best practice sharing (content, methodologies, projects, etc).
  • Coordinate and collaborate as relevant with regional APAC Consulting and Transformation teams.
  • Communicate effectively with all teams, clients and peers and foster a culture of constructive feedback.

  • Master’s degree from a toptier institution with a strong academic record. Preferably:
