The position at a glance


The Montreal team is responsible for the support of the Fixed Income settlement and global risk systems.  The successful candidate will be joining a team of 5 people in Montreal.   The role will include functional and technical support for middle office, back office, settlement, P&L teams in North America and overseas as well as analysis for new requirements, testing and project work.

The role will involve the support of the existing systems and the transition to the target system that has been developed using newer technologies.


In detail

 

  • Troubleshoot trade capture, booking, settlements, and trade breaks issues and provide timely resolution
  • Assist with the migration to a new Settlements system using Kafka, Jenkins, JavaScript, POSTMAN, APIGEE, Kubernetes/Docker
  • Provide complex technical support whilst dealing with non-technical users
  • Create and maintain documentation 
  • Must be able to multitask and take ownership of multiple items until resolution
  • Deal with high pressure situations and represent the team during high impact incidents
  • Facilitate proper communication to the business users and clients
  • English spoken and written fluently, French advantageous
  • Strong understanding of the trade process
  • Windows Operating Systems – Server, IIS, VM
  • Strong SQL skills
  • FTP, SFTP, FTPS, CFT file transfer setup knowledge

 

The successful applicant is expected to make critical decisions under pressure, following our governance framework.

 

The role requires working in a shift pattern with colleagues to cover 8am to 7pm. The candidate will be expected to also take part in an on-call rotation to cover set hours before service is transitioned to an overseas team. This position requires little travel.


The strengths and skills that will help you succeed


  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign education equivalent in Computer Science or Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in an Application Production Support environement 
  • Professional working proficiency in English language is required.
  • Kafka, Jenkins, Javascript, POSTMAN, APIGEE, Kubernetes/Docker
  • Windows Operating Systems – Server, IIS, VM along with awareness on Linux platforms
  • Strong SQL skills
  • FTP, SFTP, FTPS, CFT file transfer setup knowledge
  • Trade Support or Finance experience
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills covering both the technical and functional areas
  • Team player
  • Self-starter attitude and willingness to get involved in a wide variety of tasks
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Capable of prioritizing tasks and multi-tasking projects
  • Flexible and adaptable to new environments
  • Quickly learn new systems/products.

 

*Given the vast majority of our clients, both internal and external, are based outside of Quebec and Canada, specific language requirements may apply. Professional working proficiency in English languages are required.
