Position Purpose

As an K8S Engineer, you will manage and contribute on K8S based cloud infrastructure evolution.

You will play a crucial role in designing, implementing and optimising cloud platforms, while ensuring the stability and performance of production environments.

With a solid background in the IT production business lines and extensive technical expertise (systems, storage, networks), you can investigate, analyse and provide solutions to complex IT infrastructure problems.

Also and so most exciting part, you will be a contributing member of a global team acting over different places over the world. 

Main missions:

  • Infrastructure design and management:
    1. Design, deploy and maintain robust and evolving OpenStack infrastructure.
    2. Supervise cloud architecture to ensure high availability, resilience and platform security.
    3. Manage the life cycle of OpenStack environments (updating, packing, migration, etc.).
  • Support and optimization
    1. Provide expert level support to resolve complex infrastructure incidents.
    2. Optimize OpenStack platform performance by analyzing and fitting configurations.
    3. Implement and automate advanced surveillance procedures to detect and prevent incidents.
  • Technology watch and Innovation:
    1. Conduct a continuous technology watch to identify relevant developments and innovations in cloud infrastructure.
    2. Propose continuous improvements to processes and tools to meet business needs.
  • Desired profile: 
    1. Experience:
      • Minimum 7 years experience in IT infrastructure management, with proven expertise in OpenStack.
      • Experience in a critical production environment with a strong understanding of availability and performance constraints.
  • HardSkills:
    1. Technology mastery K8S (CNI, Mesh, BGP, IP encapsultation)
    2. Good knowledge of Linux (Red Hat, Suse, Ubuntu...)
    3. Experience with automation and configuration management tools (Ansible, gitlab, bitbucket,Terraform, Puppet...).
    4. Knowledge of network protocols and computer security (RSS, SRIOV, RDMA, VXLAN, Jumbo Frames)
    5. Skill in virtualization (KVM) is a plus
    6. English current imperative

Responsibilities

 

Direct Responsibilities

 

  1. Ensure Standards are implemented across the ITIP organization to comply with Global Project Management Standards and continuous development.
  1. Ansible & scripting skills for developing new automations.
  2. Basic Knowledge on Windows OS and high skill on Linux and Networking (Advanced user skills. No admin skills are needed).
  1. Establish excellent working relationships with different functions across country.
  2. Ensure rigorous follow up and communication to stakeholders on estimated delivery timelines of Projects.
  3.  Provide 24x7 on-site and on-call support of Production systems on a rotation basis. 

 

 

Contributing Responsibilities

 

  1. Develop assess and select proper strategy for the projects considering performance, Cost, Time and Scope Constraints
  2. Responsible to follow up and closing on all risk item identified by IG Audit or any other internal and external audits.

  1. Work closely with customers to help them on cloud application transformation
