Job Title: Test Lead 

Department: GM IT 

About Business line/Function:  

The Global Markets (GM) business of BNP Paribas helps its Corporate and Institutional clients leverage capital markets across the globe for their financing, risk management and investment needs. This encompasses a wide range of financial products ranging from Foreign exchange to complex Equity Derivatives that are traded in financial markets across the globe 24/7. IT systems are integral to the business and are a key part of the value proposition to clients. These IT systems range from industry standard products for standard process automation to internally developed, often, market leading IT applications. The IT teams owning these IT systems are made up of functions that include Technical and Application production support, Business Analysis & Project Management, Development & Maintenance and Quality Control. BNP Paribas India Solutions is an equal partner in these IT functions along with colleagues in other locations including Paris, London, New York, Tokyo, Singapore & Hong Kong. This partnership ranges from sharing the IT workload, executing global strategy to owning global applications offshore. The technology and engineering landscape is wide, encompassing almost all techniques and platforms. It continues to evolve and transform with the market with the business continuing to invest in it. 

Position Purpose:  

FxPlus is BNPParibas’ multi‑asset forex platform that provides real‑time pricing, order routing, execution, and post‑trade processing for many currency pairs. Candidate must validate the entire transaction flow using functional and automated regression tests in each release cycle. We need a test lead, who could:

  • Align business requirements with technical solutions, translating functional specifications into actionable test strategies and automation designs.
  • Lead and mentor the local QA team, ensuring adherence to coding standards, best‑practice testing methods, and continuous improvement of the automation framework.
  • Oversee end‑to‑end test execution, defect management, and stakeholder communication to guarantee timely, compliant releases of the FxPlus platform.

Responsibilities 

Direct Responsibilities 

  • Should have minimum 8 years of hands on experience in testing activities across functional testing and test automation (Selenium Java).
  • Should have prior experience of leading a QA team.
  • Responsible for QA team deliverables.
  • Produce test plans, coverage matrices, and risk-based test prioritization aligned with market requirements 
  • Allocate tasks, monitor progress, and conduct daily standups and retrospectives. 
  • Own defect triage with developers, product owners, and risk/compliance teams.
  • Coordinate test planning, execution, and reporting across multiple release cycles, ensuring alignment with regulatory and business timelines.
  • Drive continuous improvement by introducing best practices, tooling enhancements, and process optimizations and drive new initiatives in test automation.
  • Deliver regular KPIs (test coverage, defect leakage, automation ROI). 
  • Should be able to support automation test design, maintenance, execution, and analysis of test report.  
  • Should have basic knowledge of CI/CD pipeline for test automation on any build tools like Jenkins
  • Should have knowledge in any test management tools (ALM/JIRA). 
  • Should have basic knowledge in any GIT repositories for source code management. 
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines. 
  • Must have good analytical skills.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies 

Primary 

  • Proven hands‑on expertise with Selenium and Java (mandatory).
  • Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.

Secondary 

  • Proficiency with test‑management tools such as HPALM, JIRA.
  • Experience with API testing and the SpringBoot framework (nice to have)

Specific Qualifications: 

• Minimum 7-8 years of experience in Functional and Automation testing.
