About Business line/Function:
Created in 2009, BNP Paribas CIB Consulting & Transformation (CIBC&T) is an in-house management consultancy with a strong presence in EMEA (~100 consultants in Paris, Lisbon, and London) and a global reach thanks to an integrated network in APAC & Americas (~100 consultants).
The team works on strategic initiatives defined by CIB Senior Management. It has a strong track record with 600+ projects accomplished to date. CIBC&T is a competitive alternative to leading, external consulting firms, covering the full consulting value chain: from framing, diagnosis, and delivery of actionable recommendations, to designing effective implementation and enabling change.
BNP Paribas CIB Consulting & Transformation (CIBC&T) India is a newly created team, globally part of CIB Consulting & Transformation based in Paris and locally linked to the business management scope of BNP Paribas’ center of expertise India Solutions Private Limited (ISPL). Its goal is to advise BNP Paribas’ Management, participating in the framing, design and implementation of high-impact projects and operating models transformations aimed at supporting global Functions & CIB Business lines and notably the development of the local territory and (global) center of expertise (India Solutions Private Limited – ISPL).
Position Purpose:
As a senior member of the CIBC&T Extended Leadership Team, the Head of CIBC&T India will manage the India based CIBC&T team and bring top-notch consulting with a dual mandate: by leading complex consulting missions locally for the Indian territory and center of expertise India Solutions Private Limited (ISPL) and by contributing, when appropriate, to missions for BNP Paribas CIB for APAC regions or more globally with CIBC&T EMEA.
Heading a newly created team, the Head of CIBC&T India will play a key role in the build-up of the team and progressively establishing the local CIBC&T franchise.
Functionally reporting to the Head of CIBC&T EMEA, the Head of CIBC&T India will work closely with the CIBC&T EMEA Extended Leadership Team to build up the team in India and establish the franchise locally with clients and partners and globally amongst CIB stakeholders. He/She will also work in close collaboration with CIB Consulting APAC and CIB Transformation APAC. Some travel might be required on an ad-hoc basis.
Responsibilities
CIB Consulting & Transformation (CIBC&T) India team management:
· Build up CIBC&T India team, supporting the hire and integration of talents into the team.
· Inspire, manage, train on-the-job and act as a Manager Coach for CIBC&T India team members.
· Build the infrastructure and ensure alignment with CIBC&T EMEA processes & governance (recruiting, trainings, appraisal process, project feedback, etc.).
· Manage India budget in coordination with CIBC&T EMEA COO and ensure alignment of cost allocation with the project activities of the team leveraging on appropriate processes (e.g., billing / invoicing as relevant).
· Rely on CIBC&T India team members to appropriately deputise on his/her behalf and generally support his/her accountabilities.
· Engage in collaboration with and promote adequate visibility on the team’s activities to the Head of CIBC&T EMEA and ISPL Chief of staff.
Share expertise on consulting skills & methodologies:
· Be recognized as a reference point for consulting skills and methodologies, and act as a structuring pillar of the team.
· Share consulting expertise with team members and provide feedback & coaching on a regular basis.
· Encourage a culture of excellence and best practice sharing among the team.
Deliver impactful content:
· Lead or supervise several complex consulting missions in parallel, bringing value and adapting the approach and recommendations- leveraging on his/her knowledge of consulting and the business.
· Ensure the high quality, timely and smooth execution of work.
· Connecting the dots with other projects locally and across the CIB C&T network and previous experiences, proposing solutions to clients and teams, and securing high quality deliverables with actionable recommendations to Senior Management.
· Frame new requests", leveraging deep consulting & transformation skills, CIB knowledge and new market trends and practices.
· Manage the team’s pipeline of projects, actively sourcing local projects, ensuring alignment of priorities with CIB senior management (with CIBC&T EMEA and local management) and ensure as applicable the success of co-staffing missions with partner teams.
· Engage the team as applicable on AI and data management project topics in collaboration and coordination with specialist teams (e.g., CIB Analytics Consulting, CIB AI or Data Office).
· Set up delivery standards ensuring alignment with CIBC&T EMEA while adapting for local mandates to the Indian context.
Build long-term relationships with clients & partners:
· Initiate relationships, establish connectivity with clients and partners and build up the CIBC&T brand and franchise in the Indian territory and center of expertise.
· Provide meaningful support and advice locally to the Indian territory and globally to CIB Management to achieve their ambitions.
· Secure trustworthiness (legitimacy and credibility) to become a trusted advisor with clients at all levels.
· Anticipate the needs of internal clients and partners, provide relevant responses and solutions to meet them.
· Use positive influence to constructively challenge clients on transformation initiatives, at senior management levels, in alignment with the overarching CIB strategy.
· Go beyond existing frameworks and test innovative project operating modes & communicate on knowledge of innovative / disruptive market best practices.
· Jointly with CIBC&T teams, contribute to reinforcing the C&T network through best practices sharing (content, methodologies, projects, etc.)
· Establish relationships and foster coordination and collaboration with regional APAC Consulting and Transformation teams.
Work with the Extended Leadership team to enrich the CIBC&T EMEA strategy, aligned with CIB overall strategic plan and more specifically taking into account local views.

· Strong knowledge of Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) business activity and products is recommended.
· Strong knowledge of operations, information technology and finance functions is a plus.
