Job Title: Automation Developer

Department: Banking Platform IT

About Business line/Function: Corporate Credit

Position Purpose: 

We are looking for a Automation Developer with a strong affinity for end‑to‑end (E2E) testing to help automate a large‑scale banking application.

Key requirements

  • Proven expertise in TypeScript (essential).
  • Excellent command of source‑code collaboration tools, particularly Git.
  • Experience with Angular front‑end development is highly valued.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Automate an existing backlog of test scenarios, turning manual cases into reliable, maintainable E2E scripts.
  • Collaborate with the Front‑End team to add or adjust UI elements when necessary to enable automation (e.g., data‑attributes, hooks, test IDs).
  • Develop a solid functional understanding of the banking application to ensure tests accurately reflect business requirements.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with developers, QA engineers, and test analysts, providing status updates, raising blockers, and sharing insights that improve overall test coverage.

This role blends hands‑on test automation with occasional front‑end development work, requiring both technical depth and strong teamwork skills.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

  • TypeScript – core language for both application and test code.
  • Playwright – browser automation framework for E2E tests.
  • Jenkins – CI/CD engine that executes the Playwright suites on every build.
  • Angular (latest) – front‑end framework of the banking application.
  • Nx – monorepo tooling that orchestrates builds, shared libraries, and test execution across Angular and Playwright projects.
  • Cucumber – BDD syntax (Gherkin) for writing human‑readable test scenarios.
  • JiraXray – test‑management plugin integrated with Jira; it tracks test cases, links them to user stories, records execution results, and provides rich reporting for the automated suite.
