Job Title: Assistant Manager - Software Development
Department: Global Markets IT
About Business line/Function:
The Global Markets business of BNP Paribas enables corporate and institutional clients to access capital‑markets products (FX, equity derivatives, etc.) for financing, risk‑management and investment. IT systems – ranging from standard automation tools to bespoke market‑leading applications – are a core part of the value proposition. The function covers Technical & Application Production Support, Business Analysis & Project Management, Development & Maintenance, and Quality Control. BNP Paribas India Solutions partners with teams in Paris, London, New York, Tokyo, Singapore and Hong Kong to share workload, execute global strategy and own global applications offshore.
Position Purpose:
BROKK is a platform that centralizes fee‑rate cards, stores invoices and their associated check‑lists, performs invoice reconciliation, and generates fee accruals and provisions for the GMO Fees & Commissions Management team. With the platform now expanding to the U.S. market, the role will:
- Integrate and normalize data from disparate sources.
- Design and build a new functional module.
- Create intuitive UI/UX using low‑code tools (Oracle APEX).
- Elevate the team’s overall skill set to meet emerging challenges.
Responsibilities
Direct Responsibilities
- Requirement Capture: Coordinate with Business Analysts to capture and refine requirements for new and existing modules.
- Oracle Development: Design and implement PL/SQL packages, procedures, and data‑quality rules to support reconciliation, accrual calculations and workflow automation.
- Python Development: Build scalable data‑processing pipelines, ETL workflows and analytics solutions using Python, Apache Airflow and PySpark.
- Low‑Code UI/UX: Develop Oracle APEX screens and forms for fee‑rate cards, invoices and approval/workflow pages (fee‑rate approval, invoice reconciliation, provision generation).
- Performance & Reliability: Create Airflow DAGs, profile data jobs, optimize Oracle queries and embed automated data‑validation checks.
- Source‑Code Management: Maintain all code in Git, perform pull‑request reviews and keep documentation up‑to‑date.
- Agile Delivery: Participate in sprint planning, release coordination and retrospectives to meet delivery goals.

- Knowledge Sharing: Mentor and share expertise with other developers on the team.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute ideas for process optimization, tool enhancements and best‑practice adoption.
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
Mandatory Technical Expertise
· Oracle (PL/SQL): Good in writing SQl queries and Plsql modules.
· Python: Development of data pipelines and analytics.
Nice‑to‑Have Technical Skills
· Oracle APEX (low‑code UI/UX)
· Apache Airflow & Apache Spark (data orchestration & processing)
· Git (version control)
Specific Qualifications:
- Education Level: B.Tech/BE/B.Sc. in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
- Experience Level: Minimum 7 years of IT experience, with proven expertise in Oracle PL/SQL and Python development
- Other Qualifications: Oracle /APEX / AI/ML certified (optional certifications)
