Job Purpose

The role is responsible for providing front-office FX dealing and execution services to clients of Managed Funds and Overlay Services covering out of Hong Kong. The position supports both automated FX execution and direct dealing, ensuring efficient, risk-controlled execution while maintaining high service standards for existing clients and supporting new business development.


The role operates withing a regional FICC framework, taking direction on priorities functionally from APAC leadership and coordinating closely with sales, trading, pricing, product, risk, and operations teams globally.

Principal Role Accountabilities


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver FX execution services across Auto FX and direct dealing services, including management of client flows, pricing, execution, netting, and meeting market and settlement deadlines across spot, forward, swap, and NDFs.
  • Manage day-to-day front-office risk with attention to overnight, intraday and counterparty limits, effective communication and escalation of excesses, and disciplined execution with vigilance, especially during volatile market sessions with respect to the front office guidelines and sales trading mandate.
  • Provide high-quality service to existing clients, acting as a reliable point of contact for execution needs and front-office related matters, operational coordination, while supporting the onboarding and development of new client relationships where appropriate. 
  • Analyse client trading behaviour, flow patterns and execution outcomes to support pricing optimisation, liquidity usage, and continuous improvement of execution quality, working closely with pricing and product teams.
  • Operate effectively within electronic FX platforms and execution systems, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and execution standards.
  • Contribute to daily desk operations including trade capture, reconciliation, P&L awareness, issues resolution, and coordination with operations, technology, and risk teams.
  • Support desk initiatives, projects, and change programmes related to process improvement, automation, product enhancement, or regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain strong market awareness across major and selected restricted markets, staying informed on macro events, market structure changes, and liquidity conditions relevant to client execution.
  • Uphold BNP Paribas’ risk, conduct, and compliance standards always exercising sound judgement, clear escalation, and disciplined decision-making in line with bank policies.


Requisite skills

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail, supporting accurate execution, reconciliation, P&L monitoring, and timely delivery in a fast-paced trading environment.
  • Ability to analyse client flows, market data, and execution patterns to support pricing decisions, liquidity optimisation, and efficiency improvements, working closely with pricing and product teams.
  • Solid understanding of FX products and execution mechanics (advanced functions, pivot tables), Bloomberg, and other market or internal systems to support execution, reporting, and analysis.
  • Strong judgement and risk awareness, with the ability to follow controls, meet regulatory and compliance requirements, and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, enabling collaboration with clients, sales, trading, product, technology, and operations teams across regions.
  • A proactive, self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently when required, contribute to daily desk objectives, and support ongoing projects and change initiatives.

Experience, Qualifications and Systems

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Business, Finance, Statistics, Economics or Engineering
  • Fluent in English, other languages a plus
  • Exposure to foreign exchange markets a plus but not essential
  • Exposure to markets, dealing or trading environment a plus but not essential
  • Good knowledge of the custody environment including products and solutions would be an advantage
  • Keen interest in financial markets
  • Strong Power Point and Word skills, Advanced Excel (filters, pivot tables, simple macros)
  • Pluses: Bloomberg, Reuters Eikon, Rudimentary Programming knowledge and analytical packages 
  • Solution oriented, creativity, independent thinking, balanced communicator, able to adapt to different styles (cultural, business lines, personalities)
