Your daily responsibilities:

 

The VIE will work closely with the US Fixed Income investment specialists and other members of US Fixed Income on a wide variety of deliverables related to new business opportunities, client reporting, ad hoc data requests, presentation updates etc.  while helping to improve technical efficiencies related to the existing production process.

 

As a VIE on the US Investment Specialist team, the individual in this position will:

  • Gather and organise information on the firm, strategies, processes, products, and investments, for the purpose of supporting client and prospect interactions.
  • Edit/update and customise marketing and presentation materials, assist with data from RFPs/RFIs, and support client portfolio reporting as necessary, ensuring all materials are in compliance.
  • Support the US Fixed Income team as needed for portfolio information and market data. Tasks typically require a large amount of data manipulation and aggregation of quantitative data.
  • Respond to internal requests for data (performance, asset, client, portfolio data) from multiple internal groups including investment professionals, operations, compliance, data management.
  • The role will also be to help improve technical efficiencies via existing tools (i.e., using advanced Excel functionality, macros, advanced FactSet capabilities, Tableau, etc.).
  • Maintain centralised client and product files and help support/ improve infrastructure for storage of historical data reports and records.
  • Important: The investment specialist team works very closely together, often depending on one another to act as backups as workloads ebb and flow. The VIE must be open to this type of flexible work dynamics and enjoy working together as a member of a team of highly committed individuals.

Education/Qualifications 
 •    Undergraduate degree/BS/BA required

Experience
 •    Previous experience in financial industry - preferably within Fixed Income at an asset management company.

Knowledge and Skills
 •    High level of comfort with quantitative/ analytical skills required
 •    Good basic understanding of financial / bond markets and general economics; understanding of bond characteristics
 •    Strong proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel required; (familiarity with VBA and writing macros is a plus)
 •    Experience with FactSet Portfolio Analytics a plus
 •    Excellent verbal, written and editing skills in English required
