The position at a glance
The Institutional Marketing, Communications & Events team shapes the communication strategy for Global Markets (GMA), Financial Institution Coverage (FIC) and Securities Services (2S) across the Americas. The Event Coordinator will own a portfolio of institutional events while supporting the NYC‑based Institutional Events team on U.S. flagship conferences.
In detail
The team members are responsible of the following activities:
- Own the event life‑cycle – from brief to on‑site delivery and post‑event follow‑up for internal, industry and proprietary events.
- Support flagship conferences – plan, logistically coordinate and wrap up major NY conferences (5‑10 trips/year).
- Manage registration & communications – set up portals, send confirmations, reminders and thank‑you notes.
- Analyse & report ROI – collect data, build post‑event reports and share insights with leadership.
- Control budgets – track spend, reconcile invoices and flag variances to stay within limits.
- Maintain the global events calendar – update schedules, avoid conflicts and keep stakeholders informed.
- Administer event tools – keep approval workflows, registration sites, planning calendars and vendor directories current.
- Screen proposals & craft briefs – evaluate ideas against business goals and develop creative briefs.
- Ensure brand compliance – coordinate with Creative Services for consistent branding across all assets.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally – liaise with Marketing, Communications, Social Media and regional teams.
- Research venues & vendors – scout spaces, assess fit, negotiate terms and advise planners.
- Uphold compliance & risk standards – align events with BNP Paribas policies and regulatory requirements.
- Provide general ops support – schedule meetings, handle ad‑hoc tasks and other event‑related assistance.
Work conditions: This position provides for standard working conditions in an office and a normal work schedule from Monday to Friday. This position requires little travel.
The strengths and skills that will help you succeed
• 2/3 years of event management experience (including hybrid/virtual events)
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Marketing, Communications, Business, Hospitality)
• Fluent in English is required *
• Knowledge in French is an asset
• General knowledge of banking / global financial markets – a plus
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a diverse, matrixed organization and stay fully engaged while working remotely
• Strong project management expertise – planning, executing and closing events while juggling multiple timelines, stakeholders and deliverables
• Excellent verbal and written communication – able to craft clear, compelling correspondence and presentations for internal and external audiences
• Willing and able to travel 5-10 times per year to New York for on site event support (additional trips as needed)
• Experience with CRM platforms – a plus
