Job Title: Associate-  CA AND INCOME

Department: Market and Financial Services

About Business line/Function: Market and Financing Services (MFS) business line provides a range of solutions to support the increasingly sophisticated requirements of institutional investors, alternative asset managers and financial intermediaries. These include Securities Lending (Agency and Principal), Foreign Exchange (On demand FX, Auto FX, Passive Currency Overlay), Triparty Service and a variety of Financing solutions.

Position Purpose: Associate will be responsible for performing daily tasks related to corporate action process carried out in the principal lending department. He/ She will work on the daily tasks, monitor the corporate action events, and process the election across counterparties for voluntary events and book trades for Mandatory events directly reports to the Team Manager of the Corporate action. The staff will be working closely with Paris management, Relationship management, Front office, and external Brokers /counterparties as part of their daily BAU.

 Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

·        Keep up and manage every operational aspect linked to the activity of Principal lending. (Corporate action event processing / Stock booking / Reconciliation of stock and cash breaks)

· Ensure to process daily events Voluntary/Choice/Mandatory. Monitor all the instruction passed for the events by counterparties and respond client enquiries on timely manner.

· Understanding different types of CA and dividend events and trade life cycle.

·        Knowledge about US /EMEA/APAC markets and specifications to manage event deadlines and cut off.

·        Maintain quality relationship with every global custody operational team of each branch of BNP Paribas Securities Services, with external stakeholders like counterparties and with our trading desk.

·        Understanding the different types of SWIFTS messages and decode the corporate action event messages.

·        Job involves high degree of Daily communication and interaction with internal /external Counter parties, custodians and agent banks and external clients.

·        Perform control tasks required for the process, double check and confirm the completion of tasks within the deadline in line with daily checklists.

·        Resolve Cash and stock breaks in the reconciliation in collaboration with reconciliation team

·        Must be able to see tasks through to completion with a sense of accountability.

 

 Contributing Responsibilities

·        Escalating exceptions to appropriate processing team for resolution.

·        Reporting of exceptions in line with internal control and external client requirements.

·        Contributing to team success.

·        Actively involving in terms of having frequent checks in terms of activities in SOPs and ensuring timely update of Procedures in Global portal within expiry with completeness

·        Extended error check in terms of identifying any errors/ incidents such that ensuring notifying reporting manager in terms of a complete write up of the incident within 24 hours post error occurrence.

·        Actively involved in training new joiners in the team. Ensuring end to end training of process flow, logic and BAU activities, and specific activities as per requirement.

·        Should be able to come up with training plans based on the designation/ experience and expertise of the trainees.

·        Should be knowing end to end steps involved in terms of Daily/ Weekly/ Bi-weekly/ Monthly/ Quarterly/ Annual MIS analysis and presentation and the expertise ability should assist the management in case of any communication or follow up in future.

 

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

·        Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment, prioritizes multiple tasks, and meets strict deadlines.

·        Ability to work in a team environment in coordination with the colleagues and the mangers.

·        Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications and strong MS Excel skills required.

·        Proficient in Swift tools and Banking applications

·        Knowledge in securities operations and custody.

·        Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications and strong MS Excel skills required, power BI.

Specific Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in commerce or Equivalent with minimum 0-3 yrs of experience.

Skills Referential (Required knowledge, skills and abilities)

Technical Skills:

·        Good knowledge of MS office – Excel and power Point and added advantage if knows Power BI.

·        Good product knowledge of Security Lending, CA and Income

·        Able to understand the Intellimatch lines breaks and good knowledge of SWIFT.
