Job Description – CIB Financial Reporting

Job Title: Financial Reporting

Reports to: (Direct) Head of Financial Reporting


Task Purpose

CIB Finance Japan is committed to be a valued Business Partner to the Métiers and other Functions in their daily business activities and development plans by providing them with timely and high quality financial information to make informed business decisions to effectively achieve their strategic goals.


In CIB Finance, Financial Reporting team is in charge of:

The Finance function achieves its mission by:

  • Manage the accounting closing of Securities company and Bank branch in collaboration with the offshore Finance team
  • Oversight Head Office Reporting under IFRS performed by offshore service center
  • Local regulatory reporting under broker dealer and banking license
  • Local statutory reporting under JGAAP
  • Tax computation and support for tax filing
  • Financial analysis, monitoring of revenue and costs including internal reporting for the entity
  • Define accounting treatment for new products
  • Maintaining sound permanent operational control systems.
  • Monitor prudential capital ratio and liquidity (relevant to BNPP Securities Japan only), and submit financial information to the supervisory authorities.
  • Fostering a culture of active collaboration and communication with the Business and other Functions.  


Key Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities


For CIB Japan,

  • Close the monthly ledger while ensuring proper controls, conducting essential reconciliation and maintaining the accuracy of the general ledger
  • Prepare local statutory and regulatory reports in accordance with JGAAP and relevant regulations etc
  • Perform various controls built within the accounting and reporting processes, and contribute to the application of BNPP accounting control plan
  • Calculate and monitor capital adequacy ratio and liquidity
  • Ensure proper documentation of procedures and controls are in place
  • Provide financial analysis and presentation to the CFO and stakeholders including revenue and cost monitoring/analysis/internal reporting by business lines 
  • Participate in projects linked to financial reporting including reporting systems and tool
  • Assess potential enhancements and operational process improvements in production, control procedures, and workflow organization to increase the work’s efficiency and effectiveness


Contributing Responsibilities

  • Contributing to operational permanent control framework and the Department’s efficiency and productivity
  • Contributing to cross border / company‐wide / ITO projects
  • Ensure good coordination and communication with the CIB regional Finance
  • Sharing information with other sections for efficiency of their operations


Essential Qualification and Experience 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting in broker dealer/banking business
  • Extensive accounting knowledge of IFRS and JGAAP, and tax accounting rules 
  • Understanding of broker dealer/banking products and relevant regulations 
  • Native in Japanese and good verbal and written communication skills in English 
  • Excellent computer skills, especially in advance Excel to manage large volume of data

  • Team-oriented mindset and good communication skills. Efficiently be able to work within a team and interact with various stakeholders including reporting to managers.
