Job Title: Associate – KYC Subject Matter Expert
Department: ISPL CEFS KYC Operations
About Business line/Function:
The KYC Due Diligence team in ISPL is responsible for the Preparation of files due for periodic reviews (Recertification) for existing customers and (Onboarding) for new clients of BNP Paribas across multiple countries across APAC, EMEA and America. It is extended team working with onshore counterpart to support completion of KYC on all existing and new clients of BNP Paribas.

Responsibilities
Direct Responsibilities
The KYC SME serves as the technical anchor for the KYC function. The primary objective is to bridge the gap between high-level Policy/Compliance requirements and daily Operational execution. The SME ensures the bank’s KYC standards are applied consistently across all client segments.
1. Technical Competencies
Deep understanding of Global AML/KYC standards and local regulatory frameworks. Ability to interpret policy documents and translate them into actionable operational steps.
Proficiency in decoding intricate ownership structures, including Trusts, Funds, SPVs & Expert-level knowledge of Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) triggers and the application of risk-rating methodologies
Super-User proficiency in KYC Onboarding and Recertifications tools, ability to navigate system workflows, provide input for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new feature releases.
2. Operational Management Competencies
Ability to manage a technical query queue, providing timely and accurate resolutions to the operations team while documenting "Frequently Asked Questions" (FAQs) to prevent repeat queries.
Perform end‑to‑end KYC analysis for 5 files each month, covering a mix of business lines & all risk rating — including 2S, Cross‑Pole, CIB (corporates, banks fund/ME), and GM.
Review & maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and "Quick Reference Guides" that simplify complex workflows for the operations team.
Collaborate with KYC Operations, Quality Assurance & Training teams to drive continuous process improvement, knowledge management and build expertise within the operations team.
Ability to analyze operational bottlenecks and suggest tool or procedural enhancements to reduce “Time-to-Onboard" & “Re-certification” without increasing risk.

Specific Qualifications:
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience along with Bachelor's Degree - in management, finance, science, economics, related field or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in AML/KYC operations, specifically focusing on Quality Assurance or Quality Control within a banking or financial services environment.
Strong understanding of regulatory landscapes and international standards (e.g., FATF recommendations).
High attention to detail with the ability to analyze complex corporate structures (Trusts, Funds, SPVs) and identify "red flags."
