About Business line/Function:

ISPL Compliance Hub is focused to protect the reputation of the Group and effectively manage risk across all business areas by providing support to various Compliance functions. At present, the department is broadly organized into divisions, which embed into the areas they support to provide services for Global Compliance Training, Capital Markets Surveillance, Electronic Communication Surveillance, Compliance Migrations Co-Ordination, Personal Account Dealing, MIS and Projects support. The team works closely with business partners in CIB and the wider group

Position Purpose

The Group Compliance function ensures compliance with international regulatory and internal policy requirements. This function requires understanding of the systems and compliance processes support such as KYC, KYS, AML, trade surveillance and sanctions monitoring.

 

As an ML Engineer, you will join a dynamic team of roughly 40 RPA/AI/tech specialists (ML Engineers, Data Scientists, and Business Analysts) responsible for developing AI & RPA solutions. Our team occupies a unique position to drive the bank’s digital transformation by building MachineLearning, NLP, and GenerativeAI solutions for all teams across the following 

-        Compliance: fraud detection, AML-CTF, Surveillance, Professional ethics

-        Risk: operational, credit, market risk coverage, and more.

Responsibilities

 

Direct Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Data Scientists and ML Engineers within the AirTech team
  • As a primary mission, maintain (runtime support and change management) the AI and GenAI solutions that the team has deployed — an area that is expanding rapidly both across the group and within the team.
  • Contribute earlystage to the building and industrialization of these solutions, or to the improvement of frameworks, with a focus on delivering productiongrade code and models.
  • Maintain web applications that serve as essential frontends for our AI solutions.
  • Take part in MLOps activities, especially the deployment and monitoring of our ML models in production.
  • Collaborate closely with Data Scientists and ML Engineers to define and manage the full lifecycle of AI models
  • As required from time to time, conduct high-level assessments of processes across locations and business lines, evaluating suitability for automation, analysing feasibility. Ensure effective and timely communication of project status, development progress among all project participants. 

 

Contributing Responsibilities

  • Manage Stakeholder expectations w.r.t Projects support, Planning and communication, proactive in escalating challenges to get support.
  • Be able to deliver appropriate reporting content, KPI metrics to management with high accountability 

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

  • Proficiency in Python (essential). 
  • Hands‑on experience in Machine Learning or Generative AI. 
  • MLOps: knowledge and experience in fundamentals of Bash scripting, 
  • building CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, …), 
  • Deploying AI models (FastAPI, Docker) 
  • maintaining versioning & tracking tools (MLflow) 
  • Strong background in data, applied mathematics and algorithms, and predictive modelling. 
  • Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written). 
  • Adaptability and ability to collaborate and communicate effectively and proactively, both orally and in writing, with a team located in France are essential. 
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with global stakeholders, end users and cross-functional teams
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and people management skills, be able to translate group objectives into measurable KPIs for team.

Good to have skills

  • Experience with web frameworks (Angular, JavaScript, Flask, React, Apache). 
  • Knowledge of structured SQL databases and unstructured data stores such as Elasticsearch. 
  • Familiarity with French language. 

 

Specific Qualifications (if required)

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree. Higher qualifications in engineering or business management or equivalent program with a specialization in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
