Business Overview:

Business management / COO office in Global Banking Americas is a team, whose mission is to support business decision-makers in achieving their strategic goals via meaningful content and excellent execution.

The role’s perimeter is Asset Finance and Securitization Americas which is part of Global Capital Markets Americas. Asset Finance & Securitization (AFS) is a global business within BNP Paribas CIB. The AFS umbrella includes several businesses, including Collateralized Loan Obligation (CLO), Senior Portfolio Financing (SPF), Asset-backed Securities (ABS), Mortgage-backed Securities, Project & Infrastructure Finance, Transportation Finance, and Export Finance. Under the supervision of the AFS COO, the Vice president will be supporting the Head of Asset Finance and Securitization Americas and his ExCo in the management and development of their activities with a strong focus on anticipation and ability to provide action-oriented recommendations.

Responsibilities: 

The COO Organization/Business Management team contributes directly to the business development and its sound operation. They also facilitate and optimize the interaction between the Front Office and its Business Partners. The Asset Finance & Securitization (AFS) Business Development Manager will be part of this COO Organization. He/she will report directly to the Head of AFS COO in Americas, and be part of the Global Banking Business Management team.

 

Whilst this role gets involved in all COO-related aspects required to support directly the Head of Asset Finance & Securitization, as well as Global Capital Markets management, he/she will be dedicated to  new business development and working closely with the CCCO team to support the Transaction and New Activity validation (TAC / NAC) process on all transactions and activity / product related to AFS. . This role is a key enabler on developing Asset Finance and Securitization business to achieve its target and beyond.

 

 

His/her key responsibilities include:

 

  1. Support Asset Finance and Securitization leadership in the strategies and internal governance:
  • Develop a thorough understanding of all activities withing AFS, market trends and competitive landscape. 
  • Contribute to the development and execution of business development projects partnering with senior team members and internal clients
  • Build and maintain trust-based relationships with internal clients
  1. Identify and lead all business development projects including Transaction and New Activity Validation (TAC / NAC) validation process for Asset Finance & Securitization:
  • Assist management and project sponsors, help them to drive business development initiatives, ensuring that every required stakeholder (business lines, Finance, ITOperations, Risk, Legal, Compliance, etc.) is engaged at the appropriate stage. 
  • Lead, monitor, and coordinate all newactivity AFS projects and initiatives from concept through implementation, maintaining clear timelines and deliverables.
  • Own, follow-up and coordinate all AFS new activity projects and initiatives
  • Own endtoend product and service creation for AFS within the TAC / NAC framework: work closely with senior leads to draft the TAC/NAC memo, capture all workflow details, and secure feedback from Business, ITO, and supporting functions before the validation committees meet.
  • Represent all activities within AFS on all new product development or transaction approval topics, providing subjectmatter expertise and ensuring consistent messaging across the organization. 
  • Proactively identify and track gaps, action items and closure of conditions raised during the TAC / NAC validation process; communicate any potential delays or issues to senior management and drive timely remediation. 
  • Promote when relevant the standardization of practices across GCMA and play an active role in sharing Best Practices within Global Banking.

 

  1. Ensure strong relationship with Business Partners: CCCO, Compliance, Legal, Risk, Credit, IT, Operations, Drive and Finance
  • Design, implement and run relevant governance routines between Front Office and its Business Partners, so as to ensure seamless functioning, accountability and control across the value chain.
  • Serve as an entry point to the Business Partners on all AFS TAC / NAC topics
  • Help them understand Front Office business priorities and requirements 
  • Proactively work with each of the business partners to close any conditions raised in TAC / NAC approval process
  • Help partners conduct the "change management" to business processes when required

 

  1. Ensure AFS and GCMA Management has the required performance and management indicators:
  • Work closely with AFS Business management team to gain a good understanding of performance metrics and help prepare ad-hoc or recurring management dashboards and activity reports 
  • Continue to leverage tools to simplify and industrialize the production of reports
  • Innovate new reporting metrics and analysis to help platform and leadership to better understand the activities and trends within their business

 

  1. Support AFS leadership on day-to-day business issues and crisis management
  • Assist in troubleshooting major/crisis situations and leverage on the organization to solve issues.
  • Support AFS management on business issues including operations, IT, Finance, Tax, Regulatory framework, Legal or compliance, etc.

 

 

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a large bank or similar organization, of which min. 2 years in a COO/Business Management capacity and/or min. 2 years in Business Development/Project Management environment.
  • Undergraduate degree required
  • Project management skills with an outstanding track record of achievement.
  • Experience in business strategy implementation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in control framework implementation and remediation.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish strong relationship with Front Office senior management 
  • Good MS Excel and PowerPoint skills. Knowledge of Alteryx Tableau, Power BI, SQL, Python is a plus

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Some experience in a Control Department (1st or 2nd Line of Defense) would be an advantage.
  • Data analytics experience would be an advantage.

The expected starting salary range for this position is between $165,000 to $200,000 annually. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.
