Job Title: Java Technical Architect

Department: CEFS IT

About Business line/Function: CEFS - IT Functions

Position Purpose: 

The role centers on creating next‑generation Tax and Audit reporting capabilities and will be instrumental in protecting the BNPP Group from regulatory and compliance perspective.

As a Java Technical Architect, you will lead the transformation of the CEFS Functions iCAR platform into a robust, scalable, cloud‑native architecture that can be industrialized to global regions. This position is vital for shaping up the technical vision, strategy, and execution of Tax IT initiatives, thereby strengthening the organization’s overall risk management.

You are responsible for E2E technical leadership to implement the standard solution and design for the Audit reporting tool. You should be able to guide and mentor team on all the technical topics demonstrating hands on the technologies used in the application.

Technical Leadership

• Define, contribute to and evolve the architecture for Java micro‑services, APIs and event‑driven systems.

• Champion clean code, SOLID principles, TDD/BDD and domain‑driven design.

• Conduct design reviews, code reviews and technical spikes.

Delivery Management

• Own end‑to‑end delivery of features, ensuring sprint commitments, quality gates and release timelines.

• Work with Product Owner to translate business needs into technical backlog items.

DevOps & Cloud

• Design CI/CD pipelines (GitLab/GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Argo CD) for automated build, test and deployment.

• Implement Infrastructure‑as‑Code (Terraform/Helm) for provisioning of Kubernetes clusters 

Security

• Embed security controls throughout the SDLC (static code analysis, SAST/DAST, , secrets management).

• Follow the pod security policies, network policies for Kubernetes.

Team Enablement

• Mentor junior and mid‑level engineers; organize knowledge‑sharing sessions, brown‑bag sessions etc..

• Foster an agile, collaborative culture and drive continuous improvement ( retrospectives, value‑stream mapping).

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Partner with Program Managers, Architecture, Data, Product, Operations and Security groups to align on road‑maps and technical standards.

• Communicate technical decisions and risks to senior management in clear, non‑technical language.

• Participate in the global governance and steerco meeting to represent the technical delivery team

Innovation & Excellence

• Lead performance‑tuning initiatives

• Extensive usage of AI Tools to enhance team productivity in the  SDLC lifecycle

  • Provide hands-on technical guidance and design reviews for complex enhancements and fixes.
  • Review and approve solution designs, API and microservices interaction patterns.
  • Improve estimation accuracy and delivery predictability through data-driven insights.
  • Support continuous improvement of Agile practices and team ways of working.
  • Encourage a culture of learning, ownership, and accountability within the team.
  • Support audits, compliance checks, and document updates when required.
  • Contribute to long-term architectural evolution discussions for the application ecosystem.

Java Stack

• 12+ years of professional Java development (Java 17 +).

• Deep knowledge of Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, , REST API

• 

Hands-on understanding of Angular for front-end integration and user experience considerations. Angular 15 with intermediate level

Microservices & APIs

• Proven experience working with microservices-based architecture, including service-to-service communication and API design.

Containers & Orchestration

• Hands‑on experience building Docker images and deploying to Kubernetes (production‑grade clusters).

• Helm chart authoring, operators, and CI/CD integration.

DevOps Practices

• CI/CD pipeline creation (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Argo CD).

• IaC (Terraform, Ansible).

Security

• Secure coding static analysis tools (SonarQube)


Testing & Quality

• Unit, integration, contract and performance testing (JUnit5).

Cloud Platforms

• Public cloud experience (AWS, Azure or GCP) – especially managed K8s services (EKS/AKS/GKE).

Observability

• Logging, metrics and tracing (ELK/EFK, Prometheus, Grafana, 

Leadership

• Proven track record leading technical teams (5‑10 engineers) in an agile environment.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
