 Job Title:  Assistant Manager – DEC Cash and Margins (Collateral Management)

Department: ISPL DEC - Cash Management and Margin Call, CIB - POLE CORPORATE AND INSTITUTIONAL BANKING

About Business line/Function: DEC and LD operations are part of CIB / Global Market Operations globally. Locally it is part of India services. Operations team is further divided into multiple functional pillars which provide service to the DEC and LD business that caters to the clients across the globe, helping them with trades and margins related to Futures, Options and commodities and other types of derivative contracts.

The team is responsible for smooth running of day-to-day operations, processing activities such as confirmation, allocation, clearing, settling margin calls, reconciling trade, positions, cash market fees, brokerage. Team provides support across all regions APAC/EMEA/US. This team works very closely with other platforms and hub locations notably Lisbon, Singapore, London and US.

Position Purpose: Reporting to the ISPL DEC Cash and Margin Manager, this role is responsible for overseeing cash and noncash settlements to clients and clearing houses. As a core member of the DEC and LD OPS teams in India, the incumbent must ensure that all margin calls are settled within the required cutoff times and meet quality standards, while promptly addressing client inquiries.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

·         Direct communication and interaction with clients and business partners

·         Client margin and interest calculations

·         Account balancing 

·         Cash management 

·         Wire transfer processing

·         Non-cash collateral custody account settlements

·         Securities inventory balancing 

·         Nostro break reconciliation investigation 

 

·         Daily regulatory review and oversight 

·         SWIFT message interpretation

·         KPI Reporting and trend analysis

·         Regulatory and audit inquiry management 

·         Operational control implementation and monitoring

·         Data entry  

Contributing Responsibilities

·    Effective communication across multiple teams including development team (IT) and other stakeholders. 

·    Create SOP's, perform knowledge transfer and cross training for proper backup in team.

·     Identify risk in process 

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

·   Strong Communication skills required for an effective liaison with counterparties and internal stakeholders to the reconciliation process. (Middle offices, marketers, traders, credit, compliance and legal)

·    Take Accountability and Ownership, Having good control and analytical mindset 

·     In depth practical and theoretical understanding of DEC and LD lifecycle 

·    Good knowledge of Exchange Traded derivative products /ETD Clearing.

·         Experience of commodity exchanges and CCPs’ platforms 

·         Flexibility to accommodate business requirements and working hours.

·         Ability to use Excel at an intermediate level - essential

·         Excellent numerical and analytical skills - essential 

·         High attention to detail and quality focused

·         Be comfortable with escalation and managing issues as they arise

·        Forward thinking and proactive with the ability to question process 

·         Ability to work under pressure 

 

Specific Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree from a college or university 

·         Strong Communication skills and client focus oriented

 

·         Fundamental understanding of clearing /Futures & Options markets.

·         Knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)

Technical Skills:

·         Two to Five years of experience in managing cash and margin calls.

·         Basic knowledge of Listed derivative products

Education Level: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
