Latin America is an important market for BNP Paribas. While Brazil remains the largest economy in Latin America and the Groups activity regionaly, other major countries in the region are also significant contributors for the business and for long standing relations with clients. For example, BNP Paribas has been uninterruptedly present in Colombia for more than 40 years.
BNP Paribas has a historical footprint in the Hispanic Latin America. The Bank has been in the region since 1914 and is now present in 5 countries with nearly 2000 employees between Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) and Investment and Protection Services.
CIB in Hispanic Latin America has world-class teams of roughly 200 professionals spread among Colombia, Mexico, Chile, Peru and Argentina, thus ensuring an overall coverage of BNP Paribas’ client franchise in the region. In Colombia, BNP Paribas has presence through 5 legal entities representing the Group: 1 Rep. Job Purpose:
Key contact with regulatory entities, providing a daily tracking and control of operations and investments in accordance with the investment policy and regulatory guidelines, to contribute to the accuracy and integrity of the legal compliance and reports submitted to regulators. Therefore, this role must have a detailed knowledge of regulations; keep permanent updated of the information about policies and regulations related to limits and restrictions applicable to trade operations, funds, and portfolios.
This role has a cleared view of the operation, market and legal aspects, besides an experience of client service to breaches management; for that reason, this role is in charge of the valuation procedure for local and foreign clients.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Execute the uploading process of the files needed for performing the investment compliance activity.
- Perform investment compliance activities, monitoring and evaluating limits and / or restrictions over securities positions belonging to the funds or portfolios under custody.
- Elaborate, analyze, and send on a daily basis the breach notice (if applies) with the breaches identified during the investment compliance process to the correspondent client using the BNP Paribas templates and base on the client’s list of contact.
- Set up and monitor of the legal and regulatory limits of the funds or portfolios under custody in the tools used for this purpose that guarantees the adequate calculation and control of the established conditions. Stay up to date with policies and regulations related to limits and restrictions applicable to trade operations, funds or portfolios and investment vehicles that are in custody.
- Identify, analyze, and request permanent update in the databases of the tools used to carry out investment compliance activities.
- Responsible for sending the format 535 flat file through the Superintendencia Financiera de Colombia’s website before the deadline defined in the regulation, as well as to the Autoregulador del Mercado de Valores.
- Keep the manager informed about issues presented during the transmission process or during the execution of the responsibilities.
- Elaborate and send the monthly breach report to the board of director’s client no later than the 5th first day of the month.
- Maintain the database of documents updated used to carry out controls updated.
- Elaborate and send all the reports related to Investment Compliance activity defined by norm.
- Calculate the KPI’s of Investment Compliance activity monthly.
- Perform the Valuation process for local and foreign clients.
- Support other activities developed by the Investment and Transversal Controls team such as sales tax calculation, coupons payments, reconciliations processes and monthly reports, among others.
- Support when needed as backup role, other activities developed by the Investment and Transversal Controls team specifically for transversal controls process.
- If there is a delegation of the use of a token as a work tool, strictly comply with the instructions given for the use of it to perform the job, guaranteeing it´s safe custody and adequate use.
- Guarantee the maximum duty of diligence and care in the use of any work tools given by the employee for the fulfillment of their job obligations. Omitting the instructions on the due care and security in the use of work tools will be considered a serious breach of labor obligations.

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economy, Business Administration, or Industrial engineering or equivalent.
Specialized Knowledge
- Knowledge of financial industry, especially in back or middle office operations.
- Knowledge in Microsoft programs (Word, excel, Power Point)

Experience
- Between 1 – 3 years within the financial industry and experience in operational responsabilities.
Preferred qualifications
- Knowledge of policies and regulations related to Funds and investment vehicles that are in custody.
