Job Title: Assistant Manager – IT Dev Manager

Department: IFS Luxembourg Fund Admin

About Business line/Function: 

IFS Fund Admin team is part of 2S IT Chennai, which works simultaneously on wide range of projects arising from business, strategic initiatives, Regulatory change and upgrade/re-engineering of existing applications to improve the functionality and efficiency. 

Position Purpose: 

We are seeking an experienced IT Development Manager to oversee a team of 20+ professionals. This role will own the end‑to‑end delivery of a large‑scale application, understand the big picture and oversee development, deployment, and ongoing maintenance. Candidate will be accountable for full‑cycle release management while ensuring robust incident handling and proactive obsolescence management across the entire technology stack.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

  • Overall Accountable for Quality delivery of the IT development team 
  • Hands-on Techno functional Manager responsible for ensuring consistent High quality across the team’s delivery (Team’s understanding of the requirement, Estimation, respect to Milestones on delivery, Manage priorities)
  • Technical Leadership to adopt new technologies in project and upskill team
  • Continuous learning and ensure lessons learnt are integrated into the process to avoid a repeat of same pattern of issues / incident 
  • SPOC to manage first level escalations
  • Release Management working closely with the teams 
  • Proactive communication and early alert to stakeholders on Risks and Issues 
  • Non-prod environment management (Obsolescence/ DB refresh / data anonymization)
  • Innovation – Encourage team mindset to adapt and effectively integrate AI & Automation into their daily tasks 
  • Early engagement with APS on Incident and be key contributor in resolution 
  • Governance & Compliance to adhere IG and Quality

 

Contributing Responsibilities

  • Resource and release management. 
  • Prepare KPI and provide status on time to stakeholders.
  • Identify risk and propose mitigation

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

  • Hands‑on experience with advanced Java (Java11+), Spring boot, front‑end frameworks (React/Angular), Java Microservice.
  • Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (IBM/AWS/Azure) and IaC (infra as Code) (Terraform), Cloud‑native architecture (Containers, Kubernetes, Serverless), Cloud Object Storage.
  • Strong knowledge in API design (REST, Open API) and API‑gateway management (APIGEE).
  • Strong knowledge in AI/ML tooling (LLM, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Azure AI, AWS SageMaker, or equivalent) and automation (RPA). 
  • Good understanding of OOPS concepts
  • Good understanding Oracle database, Oracle ExaCC, GoldenGate tool and SQL Performance Tuning
  • Good understanding of Agile and DevOPS

Specific Qualifications:

• Minimum 12 years of experience along with Bachelor's Degree – in Information Technology, Science, related field or equivalent experience.

Prior experience in similar domain. Familiarity with Capital Markets Domain – Fund Management, Custody and Settlement
