Description

Job Title: Scrum Master - ServiceNow

Department: ISPL ITGP STA

About Business line/Function: 

ITG is a group function established recently (2019) in ISPL with presence in Mumbai, Chennai, and Bengaluru. We collaborate with various business lines of the group to provide IT Services.

Position Purpose: 

Coordinate agile scrum activities including releases - managing timelines, resolving impediments and coach team members on Agile methodologies

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

  • Manage scope and timeline.
  • Ensure goals, scope, and product domain are understood by everyone on the Scrum Team 
  • Coordinate sprints, retrospective meetings and daily stand-ups.
  • Coach team members in Agile frameworks.
  • Work with Scrum Team, as well as internal and external stakeholders, to influence and drive decision making.
  • Incorporate techniques for effective Product Backlog management.
  • Ensure the Product Owner knows how to arrange the Product Backlog to maximize value.
  • Help the Scrum Team understand the need for clear and concise Product Backlog items.
  • Prioritize stories during Sprint Planning meetings to meet the needs of users, in agreement with PO.
  • Define and facilitate estimation of story points.
  • Coach the development team in self-organization and cross-functionality, ensuring creation of high-value products.
  • Tracking resource efforts through breakdown of the tasks.
  • Leveraging ServiceNow OOB features (VTB, Dashboards) for driving the daily tasks.
  • Remove impediments to the development team’s progress.
  • Maintain and update process documents and suggest continuous improvement ideas to streamline processes.
  • Ensure deliverables are up to quality standards at the end of each sprint.
  • Define KPIs, collect and analyze data to track and continuously improve the sprint deliverables.
  • Plan and coordinate releases with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Responsible for Release Management and ensuring the releases are deployed to PROD as per plan.
  • Conduct retrospective meetings after each sprint to identify areas of improvement.
  • Guide team to high performing level by recognizing areas of strength and improvement and employing appropriate coaching and development techniques.

 

Contributing Responsibilities

 

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

  • Experience in a scrum master role in software development projects
  • Excellent knowledge of Scrum techniques and artifacts (such as definition of done, user stories, automated testing, backlog refinement)
  • Outstanding communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching skills
  • Adept at refinement, story splitting, estimation, velocity, retrospection, and other Scrum techniques
  • Problem-solving and conflict-resolution ability
  • Outstanding organizational skills

 

 

Specific Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent working experience in computer-related field or equivalent work experience.

·       Certification in agile methodologies preferred (CSM, ACP, SaFE Agile).

·       At least 7 years of experience.

 

 

Skills Referential (Required knowledge, skills and abilities)

Technical Skills:

·       Certification in agile methodologies preferred (CSM, ACP, SaFE Agile).

·       Understanding of ITIL or similar ITSM framework.

·       Good to have hands-on experience on ServiceNow tool.
