Position Purpose

Financial Accountants are involved in the day-to-day maintenance and control of the general ledgers for the entities under their responsibility associated to the assigned products or transversal scope.  When applicable, they coordinate review and potential adjustments with other teams. Additionally, they will have to ensure quality of data for all Reporting streams and be in charge of performing adjustments when needed in the General ledger.

Direct Responsibilities

Accounting & Control Functions

Banking Products is in charge of all financials topics linked to customers’ banking products – credit & cost of risk, payments, deposit, customer securities, fees, other provisions, related sundry accounts, etc.

 

ü  Perform/review control testing over Oversight Accounting controls that are allocated to ISPL & provide formal assessment of control quality & recommendations for improvement as required – this is an on-going process throughout each month

ü  Maintenance of control justification tool incl. static update and testing for any new activities as required

ü  Perform monthly system tool process – publishing balances to owners, ensuring all responses received on time & collating issues

ü  Monitor Accounting Control outcomes through key performance and key risk indicators

ü  Reporting on status of Regional Finance procedures (review status) and tracking external/internal Finance audit recommendations

ü  Liaise with Regional Finance and other control functions as required on a regular and timely basis 

ü  Perform reporting to regional management over control work performed on agreed format/frequency

ü  Support remediation actions for control process issues identified

ü  Maintain up-to-date procedures for all controls operated by the Oversight Controls team

ü  Participation in Finance Projects linked to Accounting Controls 

ü  Contribute to BNP Paribas operational permanent control framework.

ü  Participate in the UATs upgrades/version releases of respective reporting tools.

ü  Assist in identifying operational process improvements in production, control procedures, and workflow organization to increase the team’s efficiency and effectiveness.

Other Contribution

ü  Observe the bank’s policies and procedures. 

ü  Assist in any special project or request as directed by management.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

Training and occupational experience

 

·       Knowledge of Banking products is desirable

·       Working knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, both in IFRS and French GAAP is must

·       IFRS9 impairment calculation knowledge will be a plus

·       High proficiency in computer skills and data analytics

·       Up to 5 years experience in Finance within the Banking sector control team or audit and consultancy firms

  • Experience of working in an international environment and multi currency appreciated

 

Methodologies, Tools & Technologies

·       Advance Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF)
