About Business line/Function:

The AML IT function sits within the BNP Paribas Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) CEFStechnology ecosystem and provides endtoend technology platform that enables the bank’s antimoneylaundering (AML) program. Its core purpose is to translate regulatory and compliance requirements into robust, scalable, and secure IT solutions that detect, investigate, and report suspicious activity across the Group’s global operations.

The AML IT business line is the technology backbone that transforms raw transaction data into actionable AML intelligence, ensuring that BNP Paribas CIB meets its regulatory obligations while maintaining operational resilience and innovation.

Position Purpose

The AML Feed Monitoring & Data Quality Analyst is the technical steward of the bank’s AML datafeed ecosystem. You will continuously monitor inbound transaction, watchlist, and customerprofile streams; execute automated dataquality validations; investigate and remediate feedbreak incidents; and apply precise data corrections in production. By delivering highquality, timely AML feed data, you enable analysts to detect suspicious activity faster and help the firm meet stringent regulatory expectations..

While direct AML experience is not mandatory, strong Data Governance expertise and the ability to quickly master AML concepts are essential. The role will operate within a globally distributed environment.

Direct Responsibilities

  • Monitor AML feed ingestion – Own daily health checks of all AML feeds through the central monitoring platform. Validate feed availability, schema conformance, and latency against defined SLAs/SLOs and raise alerts for any deviation.
  • Perform technical dataquality analysis – Design, schedule, and run automated qualitycontrol jobs (Python, dbt, Airflow/Prefect) that assess completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and consistency of critical AML fields. Develop and maintain SQLbased validation scripts (Snowflake, BigQuery, Oracle, PostgreSQL) to flag missing KYC attributes, stale watchlist entries, duplicate transactions, etc.
  • Incident triage and resolution – Act as the first technical responder for feedbreak incidents; create, triage, and resolve tickets in ServiceNow/Jira. Conduct rootcause analysis (schema changes, datatype mismatches, network latency) and coordinate remediation with technology teams.
  • Execute data corrections – Apply approved datacorrections using controlled SQL scripts, or orchestrated batch jobs. Maintain an auditable changelog that records rationale, impact assessment, test results, and required signoffs for each correction.
  • Build and maintain dashboards & reports – Create realtime AMLfeed health dashboards (Grafana, Power BI, Tableau) that surface KPI trends such as missing KYC fields, feed latency, and watchlist freshness. Produce regular feedquality performance reports for AML leadership and riskcompliance stakeholders.
  • Drive automation and tooling – Identify repetitive manual checks and convert them into reusable, scalable automation (Python modules, dbt models, Airflow DAGs). Integrate monitoring alerts with the firm’s observability stack (Splunk, ELK, Prometheus) and ticketing system for endtoend incident workflow.
  • Support documentation and governance – Keep the datagovernance catalogue uptodate with metadata, ownership, and classification for each AML feed. Contribute to datalineage diagrams and dataquality framework documentation maintained by the AML Data Governance & Feed Monitoring Lead.
  • Stay aware of regulatory and industry changes – Keep current on AML regulatory updates (FINTRAC, FinCEN, EU AMLD, FCA, etc.) that affect feed specifications or quality thresholds and share emerging best practices (ACAMS, FATF) with the team.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

  • Advanced SQL (Snowflake, BigQuery, Oracle, PostgreSQL) for data validation and correction.
  • Scripting / automation – Proficient in Python (pandas, sqlalchemy) and Bash/PowerShell; experience with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, dbt).
  • Monitoring & visualization – Expertise in Grafana, Power BI, Tableau; familiar with alerting platforms (Prometheus, Splunk, ELK).
  • Incident management – Handson with ServiceNow or Jira Service Management; ability to conduct rootcause analysis and produce postmortem documentation.
  • Understanding of AML concepts – KYC, CDD, SAR, sanctions screening, and the associated regulatory dataquality requirements.
  • Detailoriented and analytical – Ability to quickly isolate data anomalies, reproduce feed issues, and devise corrective actions with minimal supervision.
  • Clear communicator – Translate technical findings into concise business language for AML analysts, risk owners, and technology partners.
  • Team player – Comfortable collaborating across globally distributed, crossfunctional teams and adhering to changecontrol processes.

Nice to have Skills:

  • Understanding of AML regulatory reporting requirements (SAR filing, CTA/CTF, KYC/CDD, sanctions screening).
  • ITIL Foundation or equivalent.
