Business Area
BNP Paribas Global Markets provides cross-asset investment, hedging, financing, research and market intelligence to corporate and institutional clients, as well as private and retail banking networks. Global Markets' sustainable, long term business model seamlessly connects clients to capital markets throughout 38 markets in EMEA, Asia Pacific and the Americas, with innovative solutions and digital platforms. Through Global Markets, clients can access a full universe of opportunities in equity derivatives, foreign exchange and local markets, commodity derivatives, rates, primary and credit markets and prime solutions and financing.
Quantitative Research teams are responsible for the development of pricing and risk management models. They have daily exposure to structurers, traders, sales as well as our technology and risk management teams.
Job Purpose
The role is to assist the team with the day-to-day business activities under supervision.
Key Responsibilities
GMQR Resources & Financing Optimization delivers expert solutions for funding, inventory management and scarce resource optimisation across Prime Equity, Fixed Income Financing and Derivatives Execution & Clearing. As an end-of-year intern, you will focus on funding optimisation and inventory management. Your key duties will include:
- Develop and enhance the Inventory Management platform – design, code and maintain modules for collateral optimisation and prime asset rehypothecation
- Provide analytical tools for the Financing Trading and Inventory Management desks – build robust, user friendly applications that support decision making, scenario analysis and performance reporting.
- Collaborate across functions – work closely with Trading, Sales, IT, Market Risk and Research teams worldwide to translate business needs into quantitative solutions and ensure seamless integration of models and data flows.
- Engage in front office activities – attend trading meetings, contribute to strategy discussions and proactively anticipate partners’ requirement
These responsibilities will allow you to develop advanced technical expertise, gain deep insights into financing and funding markets, and forge enduring partnerships across the Global Markets ecosystem.
Requirements
Technical & Behavioural Competencies
- A minimum of a Master's or PhD in a quantitative subject such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Quantitative Finance or Engineering;
- Excellent programming skills, with hands-on experience with an object-oriented programming language (ideally C++ or C#)
- Good algorithmics capacity.
- Effective communication skills, ability and willingness to engage the business
- Delivery focused and willingness to collaborate with other teams.
- Familiarity with Financing business (Stock Loan & Funding) is a plus
