Job Title: Assistant Manager - REVAL - Global Markets IT

About Business line/Function: 

Global Markets

The Global Markets business of BNP Paribas helps its corporate and institutional clients leverage capital markets across the globe for their financing, risk management and investment needs. This encompasses a wide range of financial products ranging from foreign exchange to complex Equity Derivatives that are traded in financial markets across the globe 24/7. IT systems are integral to the business and are a key part of the value proposition to clients. These IT systems range from industry standard products for standard process automation to internally developed, often market leading IT applications. The IT teams owning these IT systems are made up of functions that include Technical and Application production support, Business Analysis & Project Management, Development & Maintenance and Quality Control. BNP Paribas India Solutions is an equal partner in these IT functions along with colleagues in other locations including Paris, London, New York, Tokyo, Singapore & Hong Kong. This partnership ranges from sharing the IT workload, executing global strategy to owning global applications offshore. The technology and engineering landscape is wide, encompassing almost all techniques and platforms. It continues to evolve and transform with the market with the business continuing to invest in it.

Client Reporting - REVAL

REVAL is a client reporting application. Daily& periodic reporting comprises of revaluation, Dodd-Frank reporting, EMIR reporting, Clearing & Execution function and Billing/invoices.

Position Purpose: 

A technical expert having expertise in  DotNet & database technologies, who has experience ranging from Database Design/Development, Windows and Web Application, Object Oriented Design/Development, who can develop and maintain the application as well as mentor junior team members.

 

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities 

  • Participate in technical planning & requirements gathering phases including design, coding, testing, troubleshooting, and documenting the application. 
  • Prepare diagrams and exhibits to explain proposed system to managers and users in a clear format. Create design artifacts for new software and UI application, support applications under development, and customizes current applications.
  • Interface with key stakeholders to define, analyze, and deliver requirements that reflect the needs of the business, and translate to detailed design specifications.
  • Identify potential design, process and/or system changes to optimize performance, and mitigate risks.
  • Keep up with industry trends and best practices, advising management on new and improved software engineering strategies that will drive departmental performance leading to overall improvement across the business, promoting informed decision-making, and ultimately improving overall business performance.
  • Be accountable for strategic direction and technology guidance to both IT team and business lines, with the goal of achieving business objectives.
  • Carry out exploratory development to integrate new components into existing software.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks, profile applications & tune SQL queries.
  • Setup new / enhance the existing processes and create SOP.
  • Propose new technical solutions and best practices, discuss, and present their ideas in detail to stakeholders.
  • Provide technical leadership to team for design & architecture. Make sound design decisions, resolve complex technical issues, and promote innovation.
  • Motivate & direct team members to upgrade technological stack with the focus of simplifying the solution.
  • Effective communication & coordination with stakeholders, Manage project governance.
  • Focus on continuous improvement by cultivating the culture of Innovation.
  • Review work done by team members. 
  • Hands-on with development, technical delivery, review, and testing.

Contributing Responsibilities

  • Create technical specification documents, architectural diagrams, technical flow charts
  • Maintain support and technical documentation in the form of wiki and SharePoint
  • Participate in Agile Ceremonies and contribute actively

 

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

Must Have

Expertise in SQL Server, C#, OOPs, Web API, WCF, .Net Core, NHibernate, LINQ, Microservice Architecture, Angular2+

  • Good understanding of Relational databases and should be able to use SQL.
  • Good understanding of technical designing and architectural fitment.

Specific Qualifications:

 B.E. / B. Tech, MCA or Equivalent.
