Job Title: Assistant Manager (AM) - Settlements & Collateral US

Department: Market and Financial Services

About Business line/Function: Market and Financing Services (MFS) business line provides a range of solutions to support the increasingly sophisticated requirements of institutional investors, alternative asset managers and financial intermediaries. These include Securities Lending (Agency and Principal), Foreign Exchange (On demand FX, Auto FX, Passive Currency Overlay), Triparty Service and a variety of Financing solutions.

Position Purpose: The Candidate will be responsible for taking care of the Back Office operations of Settlements and collateral function for US region. He / she will be responsible for performing daily tasks related to Settlements of trades, making payment, clearing accounting breaks immediately, etc. He/ She will be working closely with off-shore management, Account managers, internal and external stakeholders as part of their daily tasks with local reporting in Chennai. The staff will be working closely with all internal teams, Paris and local management as part of their daily BAU. Candidate with good functional understanding of the Security Lending business and with.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

·        Responsible for full back office operational functions of settlements and collateral operational processes for AMER region such as Settlements of trades, making payment, clearing accounting breaks immediately, ensuring doing root cause analysis of breaks as 1st level of control

·        Ensuring the exposures are maintained at agreed levels for all counterparties / clients and closely monitor the non-cover report of collateral management and ensure sensitive clients with high book values are given extra care. 

·        Enable brain-storming sessions with manager and team to identify recurring issues that impact Client and their desired level of services

 

Contributing Responsibilities

·        Escalating exceptions to appropriate processing team for resolution.

·        Reporting of exceptions in line with internal control and external client requirements.

·        Contributing to the team success.

·        Actively involving in terms of having frequent checks in terms of activities in SOPs and ensuring timely update of Procedures in Global portal within expiry with completeness

·        Extended error check in terms of identifying any errors/ incidents such that ensuring notifying reporting manager in terms of a complete write up of the incident within 24 hours post error occurrence.

·        Actively involving in terms of training new joiners in the team. Ensuring end to end training of process flow, logic and BAU activities, and specific activities as per requirement.

·        Should be able to independently carry forward any formalities in terms of on boarding any new Clients, for the existing process. This involves all the details relevance to services provided, any exceptions, relevant static and contacts details.

·        Should be able to come up with training plans based on the designation/ experience and expertise of the trainees.

·        Should be knowing end to end steps involved in terms of Daily/ Weekly/ Bi-weekly/ Monthly/ Quarterly/ Annual MIS analysis and presentation and the expertise ability should assist the management in case of any communication or follow up in future.

 

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

·        Strong analytical skills, detail orientation, service commitment, and solid organizational and interpersonal skills.

·        Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment, prioritizes multiple tasks, and meets strict deadlines.

·        Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications and strong MS Excel skills required, power BI.

·        Application knowledge like Pirum, Calypso, etc 

·        Extensive experience of working within Security Lending, Settlements or Collateral processes

·        Proficiency in communication should witness in terms of independent working/ understanding details and assist in terms of decision making/ Easy to convey / No compromise in professionalism.

 

Specific Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Commerce or Equivalent with minimum 6 yrs of experience.

Skills Referential (Required knowledge, skills and abilities)

Technical Skills:

·        Good knowledge of MS office – Excel and power Point and added advantage if knows Power BI.

·        Good product knowledge of Security Lending and hands on experience of functions like settlements and collateral

·        Good knowledge of applications like Pirum, Equilend, Calypso, etc.

·        Aware of various payments application and good knowledge of SWIFT.
